Well, no one else transferred to UConn. No new signings for 2017. Ho Hum.

But I do have a great picture of Molly Bent with yours truly! I met both her and her Dad at one of the NCAA tournament games. What a great kid. You are going to love her!!

   

I think she was down one step, so I look so tall!!!

This 2016 class will surprise everyone! Well, except me. I expect terrific things.

It's no longer a maybe! Kentucky transfer Batouly Camara is coming to Connecticut!!

I have a few links in the UConn section.

This is a great pickup and adds another big to the 2017 team.

Camara gives UConn a player that can really carve out space in the paint. Big and strong, she is a great compliment to the other front court players. With three years, she adds size to the 2016 class.

The talent listed here is just mind-boggling.  

This is a pretty large roster for Geno. With 13, it's hard to believe that they would add any more. But with the No. 1 player of the 2017 class, Megan Walker, still very interested in UConn and Mikayla Coombs, 21st ranked player in the 2017 class, has an offer from Geno.

With the plethora of transfers in WCBB the last few years, it would be surprising if Geno ends up with 15 players on the 2017-18 roster.     

Looking at it by graduating class, it looks a lot different than it did a month ago.

Remember the great news about Azura Stevens transferring from Duke to UConn? She will sit out the 2016-17 season per the transfer rule and be available the following season.

Well, there is word from several sources that Batouly Carmana, a 6'2" power forward, who announced her intention to transfer from Kentucky after her freshman season, is a real strong possibility for having UConn as her destination. She would have three years left after sitting out as Stevens is doing. I have the links in the UConn section.

Here is what I know.

I know that she was down to UConn and Kentucky before committing to the Wildcats and playing her freshman year in Lexington.

I know that she was a teammate of 2017 UConn verbal Andra Espinoza-Hunter at Blair Academy.

I know that she had a terrific game against South Carolina, with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

I know that UConn heavily recruited her and certainly had her fully vetted.

I know that former UConn forward Tamika Williams was one of her coaches at Kentucky last season and could give Geno a solid analysis on how she played and if she would fit in at UConn.

I know that soon after Camara announced she was leaving Kentucky, Chris Daily immediately followed her on twitter. 

The tea leaves are strong for this to happen. This would be three transfers in recent history for Geno and UConn, quite the departure from years past. Similarly to Geno starting his recruiting efforts earlier in HS player careers to keep up with the latest trend, Geno is now delving into the transfer market as some really good players are making themselves available.

I'm so glad I bought the WNBA season pass. I've watched a lot of minutes of some terrific basketball. I'm impressed with the overall quality of play. Scoring seems to be up and of course I get to watch plenty of UConn alumni.

Sunday night I watched most of the Minnesota / Seattle game. The Lynx are a tough team and look every bit the defending champion. But I was equally impressed with Seattle. They will only get better as Stewart, Bird and Loyd learn to play together.

Stewie was inconsistent in this game. She had a few "Go Go Gadget arms" moments, reaching for rebounds she had no right to get. Her jump hook was deadly. She just looks so ready for this level of competition but she struggled in the second half. And in an incredible stat, Stewart had her shot blocked 3 times.

The game was close, but when push comes to shove, Maya Moore is the best player in the world. On one occasion, Stewart was gliding in for a fast break layup when Moore flew in from the other side and cleanly blocked the shot. It was an amazing effort by Moore. 

One more thing. Seattle Head Coach Jenny Boucek is a hottie. And Sunday night she was amazing in this party dress. My wife took a look and said "well, that's inappropriate". Now you know why I loved it!
