My little grandson Barrett has his first ear infection, and hopefully his last. But we know how that goes!!!

I am babysitting Tuesday so I hope he is too out of sorts. But he will be cute as a button, a very chubby button!!!

He is on Amoxicillin and is doing better!

Logan loves his magni-tiles and Barrett love a ball

Here is my UConn/Louisville Pre Game report.

And even more fun, the replay of the Notre Dame loss!!!!

I forgot to talk about the No. 9 Oregon State/Washington State game from Sunday. It's not that it was a significant game, but more on the ineptitude of these two teams.

The winning team, OSU, only scored 52 points with Mikayla Pivec scoring 19 of them. She was also 9-12 from the field. The rest of the team? 13-47, a sparkling 27%. They did manage to shoot 5-17 for 29% on threes. They were lights out on free throws going 3-7. And getting to the line only 7 times is pretty pathetic as well. The good news was they only had four turnovers. But then again, they only had 9 assists.

On the losing end of the score, Washington State was even more feeble. They only scored 35 points, shooting 25% from the field, 3-17 on threes for 17% and dominated at the foul line going 4-7 for 57%.

For those horrible offensive stats, I hear by award Washington State with the honor of the UGGY AWARD!!!!

PART I

More Fun Numbers from Sunday's rout of UCF.

1. Kyla finally tried a free throw. First of the year in 204 minutes of action. She missed.
2. Molly went 1-4 from the charity stripe. She is 2-8 from free throw line, but 4-9 from three range. Back up and take a jump shot.
3. Megan took the most shots (15) of any of the Huskies. Third time in five games that has happened. I see a pattern.
4. Five different UConn players blocked a UCF shot, including Megan and Crystal. The Huskies rejected 8 total in the game.
5. Olivia and Napheesa went a combined 12-14 from the free throw line. That is 85.7%.
6. Four different UConn players made three-point baskets for the 5th time in six games. Say that fast.
7. Olivia had 1 basket, 2 blocks, 3 rebounds, 4 fouls and 5 points.
8. UConn had a season high 27 fast break points vs UCF.

PART II

According to Geno's post-UCF game presser, Napheesa is a machine. He joked she doesn't have blood inside, just wires. Her stats against UCF, and for the whole season, suggest he may be right. Consider:
1. Against UCF, Pheesa scored 9 of UConn's first 13 points.
2. She shot 90% from the charity stripe (9-10) as UCF fouled her again and again.
3. For the season, Collier's 89 free throw attempts are the most by a Husky. Her shooting % is now 70%.
4. Against UCF, she scored 23 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, stole 4 balls, blocked 3 shots and had 1 assist.
5. In the first 19 games, Napheesa's 354 points are 2nd to KLS by only 3 points.
6. She is #1 on the team for rebounds (190), baskets made (143), blocks (28) and free throws made (62).
7. In addition to being a scoring machine, Pheesa has 67 assists, 2nd on the squad. That is more than Christyn and Megan combined.

According to Geno, Pheesa motors every minute of every practice and game. Hence, the machine comparison. He told Megan that to improve her game, she just needs to imitate Collier. High praise from the legend.

Speaking of legends, Napheesa is now 2 rebounds short of 1,000 and 37 points short of 2,000. Reaching those two marks would put Collier in the exclusive club with only Maya, Tina, Stewie and Rebecca Lobo. Great company for the quiet girl from Jefferson City, Missouri. :)

P.S. from DoggyDaddy - Naphessa won the AAC POW award!!!

Go Huskies..!!

Next up is Louisville on Thursday. Great test of the newly energized huskies..!!
