GO UCONN!!!!!

The Boys and their Dogs -
Under the UConn blanket!!

Some great competition for this award. Here they are and their stats so far this season.

Paige Bueckers (Connecticut)
30.4 MPG, 52.9% FG, 41.8% 3FG, 87.8% FT, 20.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.6 TOPG

JJ Quinerly (West Virginia)

30.5 MPG, 46% FG, 31.9% 3FG, 81.1% FT, 19.4 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 2.9 APG, 3.1 TOPG

Ta’Niya Latson (Florida State)
31.3 MPG, 43.9% FG, 25.8% 3FG, 85.1% FT, 21.4 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 4.4 APG, 3.0 TOPG

Charisma Osborne (UCLA)
32.2 MPG, 41.6% FG, 34.0% 3FG, 88.9% FT, 14.1 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 4.0 APG, 1.8 TOPG

JuJu Watkins (USC)
33.9 MPG, 41.6% FG, 34.8% 3FG, 85.7% FT, 27.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 3.9 APG, 3.9 TOPG

The leader in each catagory is bolded. Paige leads in 3 categories as does Watkins.

It's a matter of what stats the voters find the most important. Watkins has by far taken the most shots so it's no surprise she leads the group in scoring. Call it bias, but I'm partial to efficiency and shooting the best percentages is the more important to me. Especially since this award is for the best shooting guard. So maybe the best shooter? That means Paige. and while Watkins leads in scoring and rebounding, she has the most turnovers, over two more per game than Paige.

I think Bueckers has a great shot at this award!!!

Straight from the Dog

Fox Sports announced that Caitlin Clark's record-setting game for Iowa against Ohio State on Sunday attracted more than 4 million television viewers at its peak and was the most watched women's regular-season basketball game since 1999.

Wow!!! Gotta love how she has brought in the even casual fan.

No women's regular-season game on any network had more viewers since 3.88 million tuned in for UConn-Tennessee in January 1999, according to Sports Media Watch.

SPIDER STATS

Plus one for every assist block point rebound and steal. I don’t add extra for offensive rebounds as it already seems to favor the bigs. Minus one for every missed shot (2, 3 or foul), turnover or foul committed.
