I'm so glad I bought the WNBA season pass. I've watched a lot of minutes of some terrific basketball. I'm impressed with the overall quality of play. Scoring seems to be up and of course I get to watch plenty of UConn alumni.
Sunday night I watched most of the Minnesota / Seattle game. The Lynx are a tough team and look every bit the defending champion. But I was equally impressed with Seattle. They will only get better as Stewart, Bird and Loyd learn to play together.
Stewie was inconsistent in this game. She had a few "Go Go Gadget arms" moments, reaching for rebounds she had no right to get. Her jump hook was deadly. She just looks so ready for this level of competition but she struggled in the second half. And in an incredible stat, Stewart had her shot blocked 3 times.
The game was close, but when push comes to shove, Maya Moore is the best player in the world. On one occasion, Stewart was gliding in for a fast break layup when Moore flew in from the other side and cleanly blocked the shot. It was an amazing effort by Moore.
One more thing. Seattle Head Coach Jenny Boucek is a hottie. And Sunday night she was amazing in this party dress. My wife took a look and said "well, that's inappropriate". Now you know why I loved it!
