Atlanta Dream vs LA Sparks
LA took a big 31-12 lead after one quarter and had a 54-31 lead at the half.
Candace Parker was in full beast mode with 16 halftime points. She shot 6-8 from the field and 2-2 on threes. But she also added 5 turnovers as she probably was trying to do too much to show the USA basketball committee what a big mistake they made. I'll update this later with the final score.
Tiffany Hayes had 10 points at the half, getting the foul line 10 times, making 8.
LA held on for a 88-80 win. Parker ended up with 22 points. Hayes didn't score again. Ct native Bria Holmes played 28 minutes and scored 18 points to lead Atlanta. She is going to be a good one!
Burdick, Massengale and Simmons from Tennessee are on the bubble. Massengale didn't play and Burdick only had 7 minutes and Simmons played only 4 minutes. My uninformed guess is that only Burdick makes the team.
It's getting close to when the rosters will be trimmed for the start of the regular season. There will be more and more players waived. Here is the list for today.
