GO UCONN!!!!!

Not a good day for the Big East. 6 seed Creighton was hammered by 11 seed Mississippi State 81-66. The Bulldogs out Creightoned Creighton..lol. A team that relies on the three point shot was done in by great MSU shooting. They were 11-19 from deep and 49% overall. The Blue Jays were only 9-34 on their three pointers. Mississippi State also forced Creighton to foul them over and over where they went 18-20 from the line. A Cinderella last year, Creighton turned to ash this year.

In the other Big East game, 9 seed Marquette blew a double digit lead and lost in overtime to 8 seed South Florida. Credit to Bulls for coming back and taking a late lead. A really tough loss for the Golden Eagles. Marotta was the leading scorer for Marquette with 25 points, but fouled out in the overtime. That was huge. Marquette had a three pointer rim out allowing USF to escape with the 67-65 win.

My one upset pick, 10 seed Georgia over 7 seed Florida State, was correct. But with the leading scorer for Florida State injured, it wasn't that much of an upset.

The rest of the games were chalk, all the favorites won. And they all won be wide margins.

Of interest to UConn fans, 1 seed Virginia Tech beat up on 16 seed 58-33. The low scoring for a 1 seed vs a 16 seed has to be concerning for VT.  Their star 6'6" center Elizabeth Kitley led the way with 12 points and 14 rebounds. I don't know why but she only took 6 shots. Hmmm. And Georgia Amoore was on fire from the outside going 5-8 on threes. Senior starter Taylor Soule looked to have a knee injury in the fourth quarter. That is huge for the Hokies. They only went 6 deep against a 16 seed. Another bad sign for Virginia Tech. Color me unimpressed.
