Yesterday I listed a bunch of questions about each player. I'll answer one of them over the next 7 days!
Will a healthy off season from Butler return her to her Georgetown form from her freshman season?
I don't see why not. She will be in her second full off season. I was excited to see her play last year and I really believe her injury just put her off her game and then the lack of playing time got into her head. UConn really needs her to play to her potential this year. And believe me, she has some big time potential.
As they say, you can't teach height and she is a true 6'5". But she also has a some serious skills for a big girl. A soft jumper from the foul line in, the use of either hand in the post, a nice little hook shot that we didn't see enough of and a knack for rebounding the ball.
She averaged a double double at Georgetown but that was in 35+ minutes per game. Something she will never see at UConn. But in her limited minutes last year of 12 per game, she managed 5.6 points and 4 rebounds. I could see her doubling her minutes and more than doubling her points and rebounds. She certainly has the potential of double digit scoring and at least 8 rebounds per game.
She needs to stay confident and aggressive during the season, and being the optimist that I am, I fully expect her to do just that.

David is back with his fun with numbers!!!!
The 2016-17 schedule is out and it promises to be quite a challenge..!! Here's a breakdown of the schedule by month, opponent and frequency.1. November - After two cream puff exhibitions, there are 5 games in November, starting the 14th and ending the 29th. Toughest opponent will be Baylor on the 17th, but at least it is in Storrs. Next toughest will most likely be FSU down in Florida three days before Baylor. LSU, Dayton and Chattanooga round out the month, but are spread over 9 days. And, 2 of those 3 are at home.
2. December - All 7 December games are tough. Some because of the opponent, some due to travel and others because they in between tough games and offer little time for rest. The month opens w/ DePaul on the 1st, but Texas follows at the casino on the 4th. Get through those two and Notre Dame in South Bend follows on the 7th. Three games in 6 days. Kansas State follows on the 11th, but the game is in Kansas. Then Ohio State on the 19th and away at Nebraska on the 21st. Three more games in those 10 days. Finally, December closes out w/ Maryland on the road on the 29th. Quite the test with Texas, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Maryland in a single month.
3. January - Once the AAC schedule starts, the opponents are a bit easier, but the games are rapid fire. UCF and East Carolina on the 1st and 4th. USF, SMU and Tulsa on the 10th, 14th and 17th. Only 2 of those first 5 are home. The other three are in Texas, Oklahoma and North Carolina. The month ends with Tulane, East Carolina and Houston on the 22nd, 24th and 28th. January is a busy month with 8 games.
4. February - More AAC games, but the time in between games seems even shorter. Temple, Tulsa and Cincinnati on the 1st, 5th and 7th. Then SMU, South Carolina and Tulane on the 11th, 13th and 18th. Good news is the South Carolina game is in Storrs. The regular season ends with Temple, Memphis and USF on the 22nd, 25th and 27th. Those will be the 27th, 28th and 29th games of the year.
The AAC tournament runs March 3-6. Early opponents are well scouted and not as tough, but consecutive games over three nights can be grueling. Then, God willing and the creek don't rise, it will be on to the NCAA tournament.
Go Huskies..!!
