BREAKING NEWS - JUNIOR JEWELL LOYD DECLARED FOR WNBA DRAFT!!!!

In a huge blow to Notre Dames title hopes for 2015-16, superstar Jewell Loyd declares for WNBA Draft. Here is the ESPN Story.

What a shocking development. Not many players that are eligible for the draft with college eligibility actually declare for the draft. Candace Parker did. Will Diamond Deshields leave after 2 years at Tennessee? Wow!!!!

UConn Women’s Post Game: Huskies react to winning title

Watched the 2nd half again and how ironic was it that the weakness that all the "experts" pointed to in every game that UConn might get challenged ended up being the strength of the team against Notre Dame.

Game after Game, ESPN and others pointed out how UConn had so much trouble keeping the opposing guards out of the lane in the Stanford game. And they did have trouble, there was no doubt about it. But in this game, the perimeter defense was exceptional. Thanks to Moriah Jefferson, Kia Nurse and yes, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, the Notre Dame guards struggled to get into the lane and were forced into tough shots. Jefferson hounded Loyd into 0-8 shooting in the 2nd half and Allen was 1-6.

In a game where the UConn offense would score 27 points less than their season the UConn perimeter defense saved the day.

This is a great picture. But what makes it interesting is the embrace between Geno and McGraw. Take a look at the smile on her face. You'd think she just lost a regular season game. Between this smile and her not having the team intentionally foul with a minutes still left on the clock makes me wonder if she was just resigned to losing from the beginning. It's just a little weird.
