I'm crazy busy the next few days, so it looks like a full analysis of the UConn/FSU game is not going to happen.

I have been working on the Baylor pre-game report and I should finish it while I'm babysitting for Logan and he is napping Wednesday afternoon. Then of course, I have bowling Wednesday night. Busy Busy.

Tonight, my lovely bride and I are going out to dinner to Carbone's Kitchen and then to The Bushnell to see "American in Paris". I love musicals!!

I'll add any updates I find once I get home and my wife falls asleep....lol.

I do have time for a few more comments about the game after watching it again while on the treadmill.

- The refs had a tough game. They called several fouls that didn't happen and they were wrong about the out of bounds that they said went off Butler. Nothing new. In general, the referring is just not very good in WCBB.

- Chong was just terrific in the second half. She was so confident. She was what I have been calling the "High School" Chong. That is meant in a good way. I feel good about her continuing this senior type play. UConn really needs her.

- Both Samuelson and Williams did not play smart in this game. They can't do that against the better teams. Dumb fouls and quick shots really impacted their performances.

- While her stats weren't spectacular, Butler's play was just what UConn needed against FSU's White. Butler played a solid 23 minutes, looks to be in excellent condition and will only gain more confidence as the season progresses.

- What more can I say about Collier? Finally healthy, she is playing like the USA team member I saw in 2015. That straight away three was a thing of beauty and she didn't hesitate for a second.

- Hopefully this game was the worst we will see of Kia Nurse all season. She was just terrible. Her shot is what I call "in between". Either short or long. Just not comfortable on the court. Hopefully we see a different Nurse on Thursday night. UConn can't afford many performances like this and hope to win against the good teams.

Normally in basketball, the team with the fewest turnovers has the better chance to win. Not last night. This is especially true when that same team commits 21 personal fouls and has 2 players foul out. Not last night. FSU even out shot UConn 72 shots to 57, but lost. Here's a complete list of the statistics UConn "lost" against Florida State.

1. Turnovers - UConn 17, FSU 9
2. Fouls - UConn 21, FSU 19
3. Offensive rebounds - UConn 8, FSU 16
4. Free throws made - UConn 16, FSU 19
5. Shot taken - UConn 57, FSU 72
6. Steals - UConn 4, FSU 10
7. Halftime score - UConn 30, FSU 34

Now here is a list of the only statistic that matters at the end of a game. :)
1. Score - UConn 78, FSU 76

Some times, statistics can be misleading and a team needs to "find a way to win." Last night was one of those games. 8-)
Congrats Huskies..!!
