Another nice UConn win, with the three expected big scorers on the team coming through.

The Huskies were able to score at will against a game Dayton team in their 98-65 win. Katie Lou had another career high with 29 points, but this game, only 4 three pointers. She was much more active in taking the ball to the basket on the drive and posting up. It was great to see. She also grabbed 6 rebounds and had a 2nd team high 6 assists. Oh yeah, Dangerfield had 9 assists. Several of the spectacular kind.

Napheesa Collier added 22 points and Gabby Williams had 19 points and a team high 11 rebounds for another double-double.

I'll take my time with the full post game report as UConn doesn't play for a week!! But good things are worth waiting for, right? RIGHT??

I'm not a big follower of the polls, but I do scratch my head when I see how the voters react to the games in between this week's poll and last week's poll.

Last week, Notre Dame was No. 1 and UConn was No. 2. Both had 13 first place votes.

Notre Dame then went on to win their games, beating  Green Bay 71-67, and No. 17 Washington 71-60.

UConn won their two games, beating No. 4 Baylor 72-61, and LSU 76-53.

So, how did the voters react to that?

Well, Notre Dame picked up 4 first place votes, jumping to 17 total. And UConn? Well, they stayed the same with 13 first place votes.

Weird. Notre Dame picked up two first place votes from Baylor and picked up the two first place votes that Baylor lost after UConn beat them.

I just don't get it. I would love to talk to those voters to ask them their thought process.

I mentioned the Syracuse loss to Drexler on Sunday 62-61 on a three pointer with 9 seconds left.

Drexler also beat Penn State by 23 this year. Yes, the very same Penn State that beat Tennessee on Sunday. Tennessee is going to have a very interesting season.

So, guess who is the only two undefeated teams that have 2 wins against top 25 teams so far this season?

Ok....the first one was easy. Our very own UConn Huskies with wins over No. 12 Florida State and No. 2 Baylor.

The other? The Marquette Goldon Eagles, who have beaten No. 18 Arizona State and No. 22 Oregon State. At 4-0, I would guess that Marquette should enter the top 25 in next week's poll. It could be a long stay in the top 25 as they don't play a top 25 team again until January 21st against DePaul.

By David in Naples!!!!!

Debate rages about whether Saniya should start or sit for Crystal Dangerfield. Her stats must be bad for such a decision to be made, right? Wrong.

1. Saniya is shooting 80% from the field, (8-10).
2. Her 8 assists vs 2 turnovers gives her a 4:1 assist to turnover ratio.
3. From 3 point range she is 2-3 or 66.7%.
4. Chong has made 3-4 free throws or 75%.
5. Her 58 minutes averages 19.3 per game.
6. Saniya's 4 rebounds is more than Kia Nurse's 3.

Leave it to Geno to figure out what role Saniya will play this season. So far, he sees her starting and playing 20 minutes per game. Good enough for me. 8-)

Go Huskies..!!
