A busy UConn weekend, but I have a very busy personal schedule. My son, daughter-in-law and my two granddaughters will be up from Florida for several days starting Thursday night and thru the Thanksgiving holiday. It will definitely impact my blogging time!!!!

Sorry gang, but family first. If I give up a couple of hours of sleep, I might blog later. No promises.

Here is my UConn/California Pre Game Report

*********************************************************************************

Batouly  Camara

Jim Fuller of the New Haven Register reported that Batouly Camara, the 6'2" transfer from Kentucky, is still 2-3 weeks out from full contact practice. We probably won't see her on the court until mid to late December.

When we talk about the regular rotation, I believe she will be a part of that. Right now we only really look to go seven deep, with Stevens and Walker off the bench. She will add some nice size and another rebounder to the rotation.

Can't wait to see her play!

I didn't have a chance to talk about the fact that FIVE Huskies were selected to the Pre-season Wooden top 30 list. Amazing.

And what is amazing is that doesn't include their starting point guard Crystal Dangerfield. I will bet you that she ends up on the list at mid-season.

By David in Naples!!!!!

UConn's two seniors this season are Kia Nurse and Gabby Williams. Both have great statistics and superb leadership qualities. Going into Friday's game against California, here are the career stats for these two great Huskies:

Kia Nurse

Points = 1,177
Assists = 342
Made 3's = 177 of 426 (41.5%)
Steals = 139

Gabby Williams

Points = 1,191
Assists = 296
Blocked shots = 80
Made baskets = 507 of 831 (61.0%)
Rebounds = 747

UConn is led by these two 1,000 point scorers.  While the best of friends, they could not be more different offensively. One is an inside threat, while the other is a deadly outside shooter.  One rebounds, while the other leaks out for fast break lay-ups. Two different players, one common goal. NC #12.

Go Huskies..!!

And more -

Fun with Numbers #2 - UConn plays Friday's game vs California at Gampel Pavillion. Since 2006, the Huskies are 101-2 on their home court. The last loss was in 2012-13.
