But watching her in the blue and white scrimmaged has given me some confidence that she will make a HUGE impact to this team. She has speed and quickness, but never looked out of control or that she was playing too fast. Her court vision was excellent and that step back three was beautiful.
Yeah, I know, coming to any conclusions based on a scrimmage is kinda silly. Maybe dumb.
But I know what I know and I see what I see and she is the real deal. UConn fans are going to have some real "wow...did I just see that" moments with this young lady. Enjoy!

It is possible UConn will play 5 or more games next season against Top Five opponents. Notre Dame, Baylor, Ohio State, Maryland and South Carolina all have a chance to be in the Top Five rankings when they meet the Huskies. Each plays UConn during the regular season and maybe again in the Tournament. So how has UConn handled Top Five opponents recently?
Since the 1999-2000 season, the Huskies are 50-18 against opponents ranked #1, #2, #3, #4 or #5. In the last 35 games against these highly regarded teams, UConn is 27-8. It gets better. In those 27 victories, the average margin of victory was +15 points. In the last 13 games of these kind, dating back to April 7, 2013, UConn is 13-0 with 5 wins over Notre Dame, 3 wins over Louisville and 2 victories over South Carolina. Single victories over Duke, Stanford and Maryland account for the other 3 wins. For 12 of those 13 games, the Huskies were #1. In the South Carolina game on February 9, 2015, South Carolina started the evening at #1. That changed.
Since November of 2008, UConn has played Notre Dame 13 times when both teams were in the Top Five AP rankings. The Huskies are 7-6 in those games, but winners of the last 5 games. Other opponents have not done as well. South Carolina is 0-2, Stanford is 0-6 and Duke is 0-4. Baylor is the only other team to beat UConn when ranked in the Top Five. Their record is 2-1 with the most recent game being in February of 2013.
This exciting season will offer many more Top Five match-ups. Go Huskies..!!
