Had a fun time at the SilverBall Museum in downtown DelRay. It's a great place. It has close to 100 classic pinball machines. You pay a set price and get to play all the machines as much as you'd like. So much fun!

Here is my UConn/South Florida Pre Game Report.
I watched a lot of Saturday nights USF/Tulsa game in hopes to get more details for my report. I had talked about how the great offensive players for USF, Kitija Laksa, was struggling with a broken bone in her shooting hand and had two fingers taped together. Well, she looked fine in this game, scoring 37 points and hitting 7-14 threes. Their other offensive threat, Jesperson, was very good in this game. She hit her open threes and had several nice hard drives to the basket. She is a strong player and reminded me of Megan Podkowa, the terrific forward on last years DePaul team.
Overall, USF looked ok in winning 84-68. They didn't dominate a weak Tulsa team like USF teams in the past. No depth and not a lot of quickness, speed or size. But Fernandez coached teams are always prepared and play tough.

Both No. 2 Baylor and No. 3 Maryland had similar results against similar mediocre conference opponent.
Baylor beat up on Oklahoma State 86-50 and Maryland hammered Northwestern 96-65.
It gets a little tiring to hear only about UConn's easy path because of the weak AAC when you can look at these kind of results and see that there are a lot of average teams scattered throughout WCBB.

Comparisons between this year's Huskies and previous teams are inevitable and not necessarily a waste of time. Lots can be learned about this year's UConn roster when compared statistically to last year's National Champions. Surprisingly, not all the stats favor Stewie, MoJeff, et al....
Points and points allowed per game are favorable to last year's team, 88.1 vs 81.5 scoring and 48.3 vs 56.8 allowed. Keep in mind, however, the tough OCC schedule and only a single AAC game for this current squad. Shooting is close at 53% last year vs 51% currently. Also, assists are very close with 21.1 vs 21.6. Rebounds are a bit behind with last season's team averaging 40.7 vs 37.6 this year. Of concern turnovers are running at 14.3 per game vs only 11.8 from last year's veterans. Look for that to improve.
Some stats actually favor the current Huskies. Three point average is up, 42% vs 38% and opponent threes are lower. However, blocked shots are down a lot and opponent's offensive rebounds are up a lot. Both can be explained in one word, Stewie.
The one stat that really counts, is identical. After 14 games, both teams are/were undefeated. This year's Huskies are also closing in on the 90 game win streak. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Go Huskies..!!
