DoggyDaddy's Dailies 4/11/16

*****************************************************************************

Tons of links about the parade. I wasn't able to get there today, but I have been to many in the past. It's always a great time.

Geno was home sick and CD was funny when she said "anyone who has been around a sick man knows that his wife and family have the worst end of the deal today". I have no idea what she is talking about......

Here are a few of my favorite pictures -

According to Carl Adamec, Rosemary Ragle, the trainer for the UConn women's team, is leaving for new horizons. She accepted job at NYC's Hospital for Special Surgery, and will also work with WNBA's Liberty.

Congrats to Rosemary. I will sure miss her legs on the UConn bench.

Taya Reimer, former Notre Dame forward who left the team twice in two seasons,  announced that she will transfer to Michigan State.

Reimer will actually graduate from Notre Dame this spring and with  two remaining seasons of eligibility at Michigan State, she should be very educated by the time she leaves.

She had a heel injury that really gave her a lot of trouble this past season, where  averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in five games before leaving the program. She was a big part of the Irish success in 2014-15, averaging 10.2 points and 6.1 rebounds and played in the NC game against UConn in a losing effort.

With the graduation of Stewart, Jefferson, Tuck and Pulido, UConn will be very different next season. And fans everywhere are talking about how they will do without the Big Three (plus 1).

Here is how I look at it.

UConn is losing almost 90 minutes, 30 shots, 45 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists per game along with 144 blocks and 188 steals. Incredible numbers to be gone.

BUT.......someone will pick up those minutes. UConn won't be playing short handed nor will they stop shooting and rebounding. The scoring should still be in the 80's and that will be good enough to win a lot of games.

Stats go up and stats go down. But the effort and intensity stays the same.

The fun will be seeing who does grows into their roles and picks up the slack. I'll take a closer look at possible numbers for the players at a later date.

Congrats to incoming recruit/freshman Kyla Irwin who was selected first-team Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State honors for the second straight year.

Kyla has some serious skills and I see her on the same level as Erin Boley, who is going to Notre Dame this fall and has won national awards. UConn fans are going to love this young lady.
