DoggyDaddy's Dailies 4/7/16

*****************************************************************************

Late night for DoggyDaddy! It was the last night of bowling and we were in first place with a two point lead and playing the second place team.

We won all four points, in spite of us missing one bowler and another bowler that was sick. He left after two games. I had a great night with a 235, 174 and 216. I wore my new championship tee shirt over my long sleeved 2011 championship shirt.

How could we lose?

The only issue was how late we were. There is another league that precedes us and they are exceptionally slow so we started a good 15 minutes late. And then I ran into traffic at The Rent where the USA women's soccer team beat Columbia 7-0 in a friendly. And I mean traffic. Silver lane was slow. Annoying!!

I have to confess. I'm a very selfish person. I wanted Morgan Tuck to come back for another year, even if it wasn't what she wanted to do. I mean, isn't it all about me? Or us? The loyal fans?

Ok....maybe not. But I will really miss that classy young woman. Ice. Cool as the other side of the pillow. Her sweet smile. Her shy demeanor. That up fake and left handed drive down the lane. The step back three. The tough rebounds. The up and under post move. The baby hook.

She gave everything she had for this program. She played through pain and the clumsy knee brace.

What more could a fan ask for. Through my blog and Morgan's facebook page, I was able to become "friends" with David Tuck, Morgan's dad. He made me feel like I didn't need the quotes around the word friend. A gentleman and someone I would love to take to dinner and just talk. And I'm sure he passed those qualities to his daughter.

So, good luck Morgan from a selfish fan that wanted to see one more year of your skills and leadership. I'm so happy that they put your jersey on the wall at Wednesdays celebration. I wish it was at Senior night but this had to be special for you.

Thanks for the memories!

Pre-game analysis pointed out Syracuse lived by the three point shot or died by it. Going 2-19 or 10.5% is definitely going to kill you. Shooting with a defender inside your jersey is tougher than it looks... 8-)
How about the all important offensive rebounding ? The Orange had 5 live ball offensive rebounds. Their overall shooting % was 35.5% while UConn hit 52%.

The Huskies Big Three, Stewie-MoJeff-Tuck out scored Syracuse 56-51 all by themselves. Stewie capped her wonderful career with her 42nd double-double of 24 pts & 10 rebounds. Jefferson ran the offense for 38 minutes and had 1 turnover. The Orange guards had 8 turnovers.

UConn finished the game 20-23 from the foul line, 87%. 'Cuse managed to make 50% of their 10 free throws. The Huskies dominated every facet of the action and brought home their 11th National Championship. Now that is a fun number..!!
