My apologies if some of the links are duplicate from the day before and even duplicates in the same day. My search engine gives me a 24 hour period and I can't read every article to see if some are the same. And some sites make a simple edit and put it back out there and it looks new to me.

Two more players are transferring, this time from Duke.

Well, one transfer and one just leaving. Azurá Stevens will transfer, Angela Salvadores is going to play professional basketball.

Stevens and Salvdores leaving Duke

I've been on Duke's case all season to fire McCallie. I guess when they run out of players they won't need a coach.

Geno doesn't take many transfers, but Stevens is a special talent and would be a great addition to the roster in 2017 for two years.  She averaged 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds,2.1 blocks, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals in limited action. Who wouldn't want that?

I'm sure the Tennessee fans are predicting her wearing Orange.

As a freshman, Moriah Jefferson scored 182 points and had 52 steals. Breanna Stewart, on the other hand, scored 497 points and grabbed 229 rebounds. Both were/are great players who went on to glory and fame at UConn. How have this year's freshman, Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson, done in comparison, so far in their first year. Consider:

1. Napheesa has scored 246 points, so far, vs MoJeff's 182.
2. Katie Lou's point total is now 401 vs Stewie's 492. With two possible games left, KLS should finish in the 425-430 range.
3. Collier has 190 rebounds thru the Texas game. Katie Lou has 103. Those two, together, have 293, which exactly matched Mo (64) & Stewie's (229) freshman total.
4. Katie Lou's 6 blocks tops MoJeff's 2 from 2012-13, but Napheesa's 45 blocks will finish well below Stewart's 74.
5. As a point guard, Jefferson had 69 assists her first season, while Stewie added 35. Together, KLS (80) and Pheese (33) have surpassed both those figures.
6. Moriah (52) and Stewie (41) had decent steal totals as freshman. Collier (47) and Samuelson (37) are close behind.
7. Three point shooting clearly favors the newest freshman. Katie Lou has 77 and her buddy has 2. That total of 79 exceeds Moriah's 17 and Stewie's 28, combined.
8. Freshman year, Mo & Stewie started 16 games and played 1,528 minutes total. KLS and Collier are at 30 starts and 1,477 minutes.

It should be comforting to realize that Katie Lou & Napheesa will most likely exceed Stewie & Mo freshman totals in points, rebounds, assists, three point baskets and starts. The future looks good. 8-)
