The tough part of UConn's early schedule is over and the Huskies got through this with an 8-0 record.

They played 7 games, with five of the seven games against top 25 teams. Over the next eight games, UConn plays one top 25 team before their next real test against No. 2 Texas.

Here is their schedule and a little bit about each team -

At DePaul - 6-2 Best win? Oklahoma, ranked at the time 111-108 OT. Worst loss? at home against Northern Colorado 94-88.

Oklahoma - 3-4 Best win? There isn't one. Worst loss? on the road against Little Rock 68-56.

Duquesne - 7-2 Best win? On the road against Virginia 74-63. Worst loss? at Charlotte 75-72.

Memphis - 1-8 Best win? Their only win against Tennessee St 79-75 OT. Worst loss? 31 point loss to Ohio State 100-69.

@ East Carolina - 5-4 Best win? Any of them, all blah, worst loss? OT loss to William and Mary 71-65.

@ No. 16 South Florida - 7-1 Best win? St. John's 68-59. Worst loss? Only loss was by 10 to Notre Dame 76-66.

UCF - 4-4 Best win? All were against weak teams. Worst loss? Samford 58-51.

@ Houston - 7-2 Best win? Texas Tech 79-75. Worst loss? Boston College 79-74.

I have a feeling there won't be much of a challenge from any of these teams and my pre-game reports will start getting redundant. I'll probably have more of a challenge writing them!

In 7 games so far this season, UConn has taken 455 shots from the field. Amazingly, opponents have also taken 455 shots. Of their shots, the Huskies have hoisted 148 three-point attempts. Opponents have almost matched that total with 142 threes. That is where the similarity ends. UConn has made 51% of their shots or 230 total baskets. The other guys have only made 36% or 164 baskets. Three-point accuracy is also skewed in favor of the Huskies, 39.2% versus 29.6%. Despite the quality teams UConn has already played, less than 30% of their three attempts go in.

Free throw attempts and makes are clearly in favor of the Huskies. UConn has taken 115 free throws and made 81 or 70.4%. The bad guys have only tried 73 free throws but made 52 or 71%. Considering the Huskies have been fouled 117 times, the 115 free throw attempts are impressive. Opponents have only been able to turn UConn's 100 fouls into 73 tries from the charity stripe.

Overall, UConn has scored 599 points in 7 games or 85.6 per game. This advantage for UConn is most obvious in the 1st period, where the Huskies have outscored opponents by 181-82. That is almost 100 points in just 7 games. The scoring difference in the 2nd period is 134-96 or 38 points and in the 3rd period, the difference is 56 points. UConn has been outscored in the 4th period by 16 total points.
