GO UCONN!!!!!

It was a long day today. Took an Uber from my son's house to Ft. Lauderdale airpost for the trip home. The driver seemed to be in a hurry as he made a usual 40 minute drive into a white knuckle affair. 85-90 all the way there and then zipping in and out of all the cars getting to the terminal. I survived only to be greeted by a very long line to get through secutiry. Here I am at the end of the line. I believe the entry to the roped off zigzag area before showing my licsence and boarding pass is the far sign. Maybe 45 minutes to get through.

Thankfully the flight itself was uneventful. We drove directly to my daughters for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. It's good to be home. Back to Florida on 12/14 for 10 weeks! Don't worry, I'll be packing my laptop for Blogging!!!

It's a quiet period for UConn as they don't have another game for another 8 day, until Friday, December 3rd at 7:00 at Seton Hall and that little dynamo Lauren Park-Lane who still looks 15 years old. They also have former UConn player Andra Espinoza-Hunter. Seton Hall can score but they struggle on defense. More on them when we get closer to that game.

Three upsets in the top 25 and one near upset.

The new No. 2 Maryland made it a short stay at that numbers in the rankings as No. 5 NC State beat up on the Terps 78-60 in a game that was never close once the Wolfpack took their early 22-12 first quarter lead. They poured it on in the second quarter and then just coasted the rest of the way. It reminded me of Maryland's loss to Texas in the NCAA's where they only scored 61 points after being the highest scoring team in the country. Maybe UConn slides back into the No. 2 spot on Monday.

No. 7 Stanford sqeaked by No. 4 Indiana 69-66. I'm not sure how much of an upset this was, although it was on the Hoosiers' home court. Shout out to sophomore center Cameron Brink for a fantastic game. She had 21 points and 22 rebounds alond with 5 assists. As my buddy Ken pointed out, she was 1-6 from the foul line. He suggested that the opponents should put her on the line more often.

No. 17 Florida State was upset by unranked BYU 61-54 on the Cougars home court. BYU was led by Shaylee Gonzales with 24 points and 5 steals. I'm not sure how much of an upset this was either. FSU is not that impressive and BYU is a tough out at home.

The almost upset involved my second favorite head coach Shea Ralph. Vanderbilt lost to No. 9 Arizona 48-46 on a last second crazy layup. It was a pretty ugly game with 51 turnovers between the two teams. They also shot poorly making it a tough game to watch. But Shea has them playing some tough defense and hopefully that turns into some wins.
