UConn had it's second exhibition game against Southern Connecticut. Geno said UConn had an exciting out of conference game set up but it fell through when the other team had a conflict. Seems like he felt he wanted a game during the week to keep working on things in between the Ohio State game and the Vanderbilt game.

UConn did what was expected in the 99-45 win. Samuelson was 4-5 on threes and scored 26 points. The two freshmen were terrific in this game. Nelson-Ododa had a double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Williams scored 18 points on 8-12 shooting. Five players had double digit scoring with Walker just missing with 9 points. Collier just missed a triple double with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Overall a great practice and no one got hurt!!!

Looking forward to watching this team continue to grow as they take on Vanderbilt on Saturday. The Commodores lost to No. 17 North Carolina State 74-54. Here is my Pre Game Report.

My good friend Bruce made it to the game with his wife Lesley. He sent me a picture from his excellent seats.

A big shout out to the UConn men's team on a great win in Madison Square Garden against No. 15 Syracuse putting the game away at the free throw line winning 83-76.

UConn shot a torrid 57% on threes going 12-21. Only the 20 turnovers against that tough Syracuse zone kept the Orange in the game.

Alterique Gilbert, someone off two years of shoulder issues, is finally healthy and playing like the McDonald's AA he was. He was 4-5 on threes and had 16 points and EIGHT assists.

Congrats to Coach Hurley on a terrific win!!!!

Another weak performance by a supposed SEC powerhouse. No. 10 had to overcome 27 turnovers to defeat Clemson 69-57. Incredibly, Clemson had 28 turnovers. This game must have been really tough to watch. I recorded it to watch later as I was interested in seeing how South Carolina will adjust to not having Wilson to carry the team. I will just delete it. Why would I torture myself?

South Carolina Harris and Jackson with 6 turnovers each and former Tennessee boxer....errr…..guard was next with 5 turnovers. They shot 36% from the field and was 4-18 on threes. Close to winning an UGGY Award!!!

No. 24 Miami upset No. 19 Marquette 63-55. Well, maybe not really an upset. Early season rankings are not really based on much data.

Between the two teams, they shot a dreadful 11-48 on three pointers. You would think they would have figured out that they maybe should have tried maybe shooting a little closer???
