The new AP poll came out and UConn is still sitting behind No. 1 Notre Dame in the 2 spot.

A few teams moved several spots.

On the plus side -

Maryland jumped 2 spots to No. 7
Syracuse jumped 4 spots to No. 14
South Florida jumped 4 spots to No. 17. This after losing their leading scorer. I guess the pollsters don't pay attention to details.
California jumped 5 spots to No. 18
Arizona State jumped 3 spots to No. 19

Of course for every action there is a reaction so here are the teams that dropped -

South Carolina dropped 3 spots to No. 13. This is the first time out of the top ten in 89 weeks
Missouri dropped 5 spots to No. 21
Marquette dropped 3 spots to No. 22

Note that two of the three big drops were teams from the SEC. Just sayin'!!!

This could be a big week for UConn on the recruiting front. 6'4" Aliya Boston is supposed to announce her college choice on Wednesday from her home in the Virgin Islands.

Lots of things point to her coming to Storrs.

1 - She went to HS in Massachusetts. Kinda local.
2 - Because of being local she attended several UConn games.
3 - There is a big hole in the middle for her to fill and would get a ton of minutes early
4 - UConn is in the Virgin Islands for a 3 day tournament and it's hard to believe she would pick another team will UConn was there.

It just feels like this one is coming UConn's way. We will know very soon.

By David in Naples!!!!!

It is hard to draw too many conclusions about the team statistics after only 2 games, but some interesting numbers stand out. For example, Katie Lou is shooting only 3-12 from three-point range. That's 25%..! But she is still averaging 17 points per game by shooting 8-14 from inside the arc and 9-11 from the charity stripe. Here are several other surprises:

1. Crystal has 8 turnovers to go with her 11 assists.
2. Christyn Williams has 6 steals, twice as many as the next player.
3. Crystal has 7 of UConn's 13 three point baskets, but 0 free throw attempts.
4. Opponents are shooting just 27% from the field and have 40 turnovers & 33 baskets.
5. Napheesa is averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game. (Double double)

Go Huskies..!!
