I hope everyone had as nice a Thanksgiving as I did. We had all of our kids, their spouses and grandkids, and then my 96 year old mother in law, our nephew and his two kids, my wife's brother and his son and "fiancé" (I think they are married but not telling anyone...shhhh)….
You know you had a good time when no one thought to stop and take pictures. Great food and conversation with me taking a peak on my phone for UConn scores!!!!

Looks like UConn had their way with the middle of the ground SEC team in Ole Miss. As I predicted, they built an early lead and never looked back. My 35+ score prediction was pretty good with the 90-50 win. And I also predicted another double double for Collier and a better three point shooting game for Samuelson.
Ok….so those predictions weren't very impressive but hey, at least I put them in writing!!!
UConn didn't go very deep in this one but 8 players had double digit minutes and 6 of those had double digit scoring.
From the highlights (I posted them below), it looked like the two freshmen are really starting to get it. There is a spin move, a pull up jumper, a couple of threes and some nice rebounds by Williams and Ododa really worked hard in the paint and had a nice pull up jumper. Geno is bringing them along nicely.
Collier ended up with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Samuelson was 4-9 on threes for her 22 points. It was nice to see FOUR players with multiple threes, Samuelson, Walker, Dangerfield and Williams. Great to spread that out! And everyone hit the boards with Walker just missing a double double with her 9 rebounds and 12 points.
It was just a solid game for UConn and I'm looking forward to playing the pain in the ass St. John Storm. They beat Saturday's opponent Purdue 68-62.
Of course I had to suffer with reading complaints about lack of minutes for the bench. Geeze, put a sock in it already. Geno is going to distribute the minutes the way he sees necessary and no more and no less. No matter how much the fans complain.
No time to do a St. John's preview. Sorry. Driving to New Jersey tomorrow for a gathering of my side of the family. 30+ crazy relatives!!! Can't wait!!!
Yes, this was before the game! Training hard!!!!

One upset in the Top 25 and it looks like the loss of Laksa for South Florida caught up with them as they lost to Kentucky 85-63, a 22 point blowout. It won't be an easy season for the Bulls.
Tennessee had a tough time with a weak ACC opponent in Clemson. They were tied with 6 minutes left before pulling away and winning by double digits 78-66. I noticed that their usual starting point guard Westbrook looked like she came off the bench and played only 22 minutes. I wonder why? She hit both her threes but had 6 turnovers. As a sophomore she needs to take care of the ball better. Looks like freshman Green started. That girl loves to shoot the ball. 14 shots to score 12 points. Not good.
Notre Dame keeps on rolling, beating Gonzaga 81-65. Talk about a weak bench, Notre Dame got zero points, zeros assists and 1 rebound from 4 of the 5 bench players. They are still missing Mabrey.
