Villanova Season to Date
Villanova is 7-7 to date. Not a great record, but they are playing a tough schedule. Ten of their games are against teams with under 100 Massey rating and they have gone 4-6 against those teams.
They did beat an SEC team in Texas A&M winning 65-57. The Aggies just lost to Tennessee 91-78. They lost to North Carolina 53-36 and Baylor 73-62.

Game Analysis
Leading scorer from last year Lucy Olsen and three other starters Zanai Jones, Bella Runyan,
Christina Dalce have all left the team via either graduation or use of the portal.
As a result of that player movement, the only returning starter is Maddie Burke, a 6' grad student guard. She is second on the team in scoring at 12.1 PPG. She is really struggling from the field, shooting 37.6%. She leads the team in three pointers taken but is only shooting 30.8%. She gets to the FT line twice a game shooting 83.9%.
Leading the team in scoring is freshman Jasmine Bascoe. The 5'7" guard is averaging 15.6 PPG and leads the team in free throws taken at 3 per game. She is shooting them at a very high 90.0%. She also leads the team in assists at 4.2 per game. Quick hands get her a team high 2 steals per game.
Denise Carter is a 6' forward that transferred in from Mississippi State. She leads the team in rebounds at 6'5 per game and in blocks with one per game. She is averaging 9.3 PPG on
Bronag Power-Cassidy, a 5'7" guard that transferred in from Holy Cross is averaging 8.1 PPG and is the best three point shooter on the team going 20-40 on the season.
Maddie Burke, a 5'11" sophomore guard, a returning player from last year, has started the last few games.
Kaitlyn Orihel, a 5'10" senior guard is the other returning players from last years team.
Ryanne Allenis a 6'1" Junior Guard transfer from Vanderbilt. She got 22 minutes in their last game but her numbers are just awful. She is 2-13 from the field. I'm doubting she will get that many minutes in this game.
Lara Edmanson, a 6' Grad Student Forward that transferred in from Santa Clara has started 10 games but appears to be out for this one. She missed the last two games.. She averages 8.7 PPG and shoots a team leading 52.0% from the field.
Final Prediction
Massey has this game a 14 point spread. Like Marquette in their previous game, Villanova has a totally new team this season. Continuity will be an issue. They start three transfers and a freshman.
While not having a great shooting game in their last outing, UConn just dominated Marquette. You can expect more of the same in this game. Nova has no height so you can expect Geno to use his small lineup to match up. However, UConn's small lineup has Sarah Strong. She will have a field day in this game.
I'm smelling a really good shooting game for the Huskie.
My guess is UConn by 30+
GO HUSKIES!!
