Tennessee comes into the tournament as a 7 seed, playing 10 seed Green Bay in Tempe. One thing for sure, Tennessee fans travel well and will be a big presence out west. This game should be an interesting matchup. Tennessee has played tough defense when they are motivated giving up 58 points per game and Green Bay plays tough defense all the time giving up 52 points per game.

Green Bay shoots a ton of threes (762 total)  but is only shooting 32.8%. But that is WAY better than Tennessee's 25.8% but they have shot a lot less (471 total).

Tennessee does NOT cover the three pointer very well so Green Bay will get their looks.

Tennessee can win if Deshields can dominate, they can defend the three and win the battle of the boards.

Green Bay can win if they force Deshields into taking tough shots and she keeps shooting, they hit 35% of their threes and take 20 of them and they hold Tennessee to 55 or less.

The wild card is the difference in coaching. Holly Warlick has been much maligned this season and certainly her team has underachieved. They WERE ranked No. 4 to start the season. Green Bay coach
Kevin Borseth is a very successful long time head coach. Over 28 years, he has an impressive record of 607-250 in his stints at Michigan Tech (1987-1998), Green Bay (1998-2007, 2012-pres.) and Michigan (2007-2012).

And no one puts on a show like he does.

I  guess I shouldn't be surprised but the Committee has South Florida in UConn's bracket. It wasn't necessary. And of course, they put Tennessee far, far away from UConn.

Looking forward to the Notre Dame/ Maryland Elite Eight game, if it comes to pass. I think these are two evenly matched teams.

If you are looking for an upset, consider Army over Syracuse. But maybe I feel that way because I really dislike the Syracuse coach. Nah....I have no bias.....lol.

Nine SEC teams made the tourney as Charlie SECreme predicted. Now the question is how quickly will these teams be eliminated.

Below the top few teams, the season has really been unpredictable. I'm hoping the tournament is the same. But don't be surprised of the four no. 1 seeds make the final four.

From David in Naples

Despite her injuries and slow start, Natalie Butler has had some positive results this season. She has appeared in 21 games, starting in one. Her total playing time of 284 minutes is about 2 1/2 times less than Katie Lou and 3 times less than Stewie or Kia Nurse.

Butler has 138 points and 98 rebounds in her limited playing time. With a possible six more games to play, she has a chance to finish with 120 total rebounds and as many as 160 points. Morgan Tuck had 120 rebounds in her first year and MoJeff had 180 points her first season.

Natalie has 17 blocked shots, more than Gabby (12) and Tuck (8). Her field goal % is 58.4%, better than Napheesa (52.8%) and Morgan (50.2%). Butler has 29 turnovers, but 20 assists and 13 steals.

This season has been tough for Butler. She has come thru the tough spots with a great attitude. She will be a force over this post season and for the next two years.
