Rumor has it that Mikayla Venson, a terrific 5'7" sophomore point guard on the Virginia Cavaliers team is going to transfer. No word on where she is headed. She led the ACC in free throw shooting percentage (87.4 percent) and ranked 7th in scoring (15.1 ppg). She also shot 37.8% on threes and took a bunch of them (185).  She will help any team she goes to.

Last year was crazy with all the transfers and many of those players will start with their new teams next season. How will this off season play out? Should be interesting.

Hey, check out the Sports Illustrated cover!!!!!!!

I looked right by the fact that Duke was not invited to the NCAA tournament this year. Wow. If this doesn't get McCallie fired, I don't know what will. I know she had a few injuries, but her teams have under performed for a while now. 'A big kick in the gut': Duke women's basketball left out of NCAA tournament

From David in Naples

For a team that plays such an aggressive and smothering defense, UConn sure doesn't foul opponents very often. In 32 games, the Huskies have committed 360 fouls, only 11 per game. Remarkably, those 360 fouls have resulted in only 209 opponent free throws. And only 143 of those tries went in... :D

UConn, on the other hand, has been fouled 474 times, leading to 455 free throws. That is almost a one-to-one ratio..!! More free throws, plus a 79.6% success , equals 362 points for the Huskies from the charity stripe. Stewie and MoJeff have played 1,838 combined minutes and each has only 40 fouls. That is an amazing foul only every 23 minutes, on the team's leading shot blocker (107) and leading ball thief (83).

The two Huskies with the most fouls are Napheesa Collier (54) and Gabby Williams (53). Not surprisingly, they both are undersized forwards who lead the team in offensive rebounds with 72 and 65 respectively. And, they are super aggressive at both ends of the court. One final note, UConn went the whole season without any player fouling out. 8-)
