Congrats to my granddaughter Noa and her Cheer Florida team, the Ravens on coming in second places in the UCA International All Star event.  It was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.

The next big one is back there again in early May. We will be going to this one to see her in person!!!! I can't wait!!!

Hurry up and select the teams already!!!!

Soon, Logan, soon. I know you have your UConn PJ's on, but don't worry. UConn will get a good draw!

I'll be setting up a new DoggyDaddy's Dailies NCAA pool sheet on the ESPN web site. I hope you all join in with an entry.

I'm not big on rules, but please, only one sheet per person.

Sign up and win........my admiration.

Yesterday I mentioned that UConn was in the final five for 2018 recruit Christyn Williams. She posted this on her twitter.

If you want a good laugh, you should check out the reaction to this picture. Many UConn fans are crazed over the fact that the Tennessee logo is in the middle of the picture. Hysterical.

I have my own theory on the placement of that "T". I believe she is saying "Tennessee, my ass"!!

It's always interesting to see how the actual brackets look compared to Charlie SECreme's final bracketology. He does a pretty good job of who will be in the Tournament but not as good as who is playing who.

Using his final brackets, UConn will play Texas Southern in the first round. If all the seedings are chalk (expression for the favorites winning), UConn will then play Creighton, Ohio State and then Stanford to get to the final four.

There they would play South Carolina and then meet Notre Dame on more time in the championship game.

That is a tough road to winning NO. 12. Let's see where the committee puts teams and then look out for upsets!!!

By David in Naples!!!!!

For the first time ever, UConn has two players averaging 20+ points per game, in the same season. Katie Lou Samuelson sits at 21.0 points even and Napheesa Collier is just behind her at 20.2 pts per game. Their total points are 671 and 647 respectively. In 3rd and 4th place for the Huskies for scoring are Gabby with 422 points (13.2 avg) & Kia at 341 (12.2 avg).

Both Lou and Pheesa have a chance to break the record for most points by a sophomore at UConn. The current top six are as follows:
1. Stewie with 777 - 2013-14
2. Maya with 754 - 2008-9
3. Katie Lou with 671 - 2016-17
4. Kaleena with 670 - 2012-13
5. Kerry Bascom w/ 656 - 1988-89
6. Napheesa Collier w/ 647 - 2016-17

So Samuelson snuck past KML into 3rd and Collier is just behind Bascom for 5th..! With possibly six games to play, Stewie and Maya better watch out..!

Even more impressive is the single season scoring average race. KLS is current 3rd there as well, with her 21.0 per game average. Ahead of her are Maya with 22.8 per and Kerry Bascom at 22.6 per. Those two will be hard to pass, but Napheesa could move into 5th best all time at 20.6 points per game. A couple of 30+ point games should do it..!!

Go Huskies..!!

                                       --------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone who wonders why many fans prefer UConn women's basketball to the men's game need only look at last night's box score. UConn lost to Cincinnati in the most unwatchable game ever. Consider:
1. Total fouls = 56 ( The whistle blew every 42 seconds)
2. Missed shots = 63
3. Free throw attempts = 71 (talk about boring)
4. Missed free throws & turnovers = 27
5. Assists = 15 (and that was generous)

Root canal surgery would have been a better alternative. The game flow chart on ESPN broke....because there was no flow..!!
