Looks to me that if either Baylor or Notre Dame win this, JBB is going to be the winner. But being a UConn fan....how can he live with himself????

Here is my UConn/Syracuse Post Game Report.

Congrats to Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor on their engagement. Check out the video!

Lots of talk about parity in WCBB, but based on the Sweet Sixteen, it's still not here yet.

Seeds remaining by region.

Bridgeport - 1, 3, 4, 10
Stockton - 1, 2, 3, 12
Oklahoma City - 1, 2, 3, 4
Lexington - 1, 2, 3, 4

Only two teams out of the sixteen not in the top four seeds. 10 Oregon State and 12 Quinnipiac.

Sad news for Brianna Turner. She looks to have torn her ACL and will miss the rest of the NCAA Tournament. This is a huge blow for Notre Dame and their chance to win the championship. I think they have enough to get by Ohio State and to the Elite Eight. But this game will be a tight one. I'm not sure they can compete with the size of the Texas/Stanford.

Good new for South Carolina. Word is that Alisha Gray could be available for the next game. I'm still looking for conformation on that, but I have seen tweets saying that she is doing well.

Lots of interesting matchups in the Sweet Sixteen. But one that really stood out to me is the Baylor/Louisville game.

I'm sure most of you remember the last time these two teams met in the NCAA tournament. It was in the 2012-13 Sweet Sixteen game and Griner's senior season. They were the favorites to certainly get to the final four and probably the favorites to win it all.

Louisville was the big time underdog and they shocked the world with the 82-81 win. There was plenty of controversy on how this game played out.

Watz had a strategy and the players executed to perfection. Beat up Griner. Beat up Griner. And then beat her up again. They were so physical, the refs just couldn't keep up with the fouling. Here are some highlights.

If you want to see the entire game, here is that video. It's commercial free!!!!

I just remember the message boards going nuts over this game. Baylor fans were pissed off, Louisville fans were ecstatic, and UConn fans saw the path to a championship open up.

Louisville went on to beat Tennessee and California to make the championship game before finally losing to UConn 93-60 for their first of four in a row.

I can only imagine the emotions that will surround this game, from the coaches to the players and down to the fans. Baylor will be out for revenge.

By David in Naples!!!!!

UConn crushed Syracuse by 30 points in a re-match of the Championship game from last season. The Huskies ran, shot and assisted their way to an easy win. The stats line up as easy as 1, 2, 3... Consider:

1. Gabby and Kia each had 1 turnover and eleven combined assists.
2. Napheesa added 2 blocked shots to her team leading total.
3. Katie Lou and Pheesa totaled 3 threes, Kia had the rest.
4. Collier had 4 offensive rebounds and each resulted in a basket.
5. KLS was held to 5 baskets, but added eleven free throws.
6. In addition to all her points, Kia had 6 assists.
7. Saniya led the team with 7 assists.
8. Collier had 8 baskets on only nine tries.
9. Nurse made 9 three point shots in twelve attempts.
10. UConn only had 10 turnovers.
11. Lou nailed 11 free throws in thirteen tries.
12. The Huskies sank 12 three point baskets and held the Orange to eight.

The dozen Fun Numbers tell the story of a convincing win over an over rated Syracuse. Their pressure defense was weak and their defense failed to show up. On to UCLA..!

Go Huskies..!!

  1. Your entry rule was 1 entry per person. Should a person who made more than 1 entry be deemed "winner" as a rule violator?

    1. I screwed up. I forgot to set it up that way. I'm not going to disqualify people. It's all in fun.
