For a long time Williams was considered a strong UConn lean and South Carolina was not in her list of possible destinations. She added them when South Carolina hired Jolette Law as an assistant coach. Williams apparently has a relationship with Law and now South Carolina is in the final two.
It feels to me that she will choose UConn, but until she announces, I'll be sitting on pins and needles. With ZERO recruits in 2018, it's a pretty important get for Geno.
Olivia Nelson-Ododa, a 6'4" post, will also be making her decision soon. Nelson-Ododa is the No. 5 prospect and the No. 1 post in the 2018 class. She said she would announce by the end of the early signing period which is on 11/15. She also has UConn and South Carolina on her list along with Duke, Georgia and Florida State. Ododa visited UConn with Williams a few weeks ago and then had her final visit to Duke. She is interested in a career in medicine so Duke might be a great choice for her. But maybe she had a bonding experience with Williams at their UConn visit?
I like what Jim Fuller wrote the other day, that he looks at recruiting in two year cycles and with the big class of 2017, it's no surprise that 2018 is going to be a small class. UConn has it's eyes on several 2019 players that I will talk about after the 2018 class has all committed.
Williams would be a great get. Ododa would be a great get.
Both????? Let's dream together!!

Lucky number 7 shows up in many of UConn's stats from last season. For example, the team played 7,377 conbined minutes and made 52.7% of their shot attempts. The Huskies also shot 77.9% from the free throw line and Napheesa led the team with 137 attempts. Katie Lou played 1,177 minutes, which led the team and Collier was close behind with 1,117. Pheesa also blocked 77 shots, which was better than Gabby's 52. And if you add 5 plus 2 it equals 7.
Of course, 7 was in KLS and Collier's scoring totals. Katie had 747 points and Pheesa was slightly better at 754, with 457 shot attempts. As a team, UConn took 746 threes, while opponents took exactly the same 746 tries. Of course, the Huskies made more of them and averaged 87 points per game. Finally, Gabby, Lou and Pheesa all started each of UConn's 37 games. As we all know, all those 7s didn't help in the semi final game. But this a new year, and UConn has 7 go to players and plays their first regular 2017 season game on Sunday against Stanford.
Go Huskies..!!
