Only one good game Saturday among the top 25 teams. No. 2 Notre Dame is taking on No. 16 DePaul in McGrath-Phillips Arena, Chicago.
If this game is anything like last year's barn-burner, it should be a great one to watch. Notre Dame won that one 95-90. The Irish scored 65 points in the first half to take a 64-39 lead at the break. The second half was all DePaul, outscoring Notre Dame 51-30. McGraw was livid with her team after the game.
"I thought we got complacent in the second half, and we can't do that," McGraw said. "The defense was just absolutely unacceptable."
There was a total of 47 three point shots taken between the two teams and they made a an amazing 23 of them. A definite shootout.
It doesn't look like it's on my cable system or ESPN3 at this time. I really want to watch this one.

UConn's record after eight games is 8-0. For some fans, and most of the competition, this is a shock. Even Geno seems surprisingly pleased with the progress of his young team. There are still some statistics, however, in which opponents lead the Huskies. That is not normally the case. Consider:
1. Last season UConn had nearly twice the number of steals as their opponents. This year, the other guys lead 70-67.
2. Opponents have 118 offensive rebounds while the Huskies have only 88.
3. Three Huskies have fouled out this season vs 0 for the other guys.
4. Blocked shots normally are totally in favor of UConn. With Stewie gone, the Huskies lead only 30-29.
Some statistics are as they should be... For example, UConn has scored 639 points vs only 459 for opponents. Made threes are 60-43 for UConn and free throws are 109 to 58. By far the biggest difference is in assists. UConn has double the opponents total, 167 vs 80. That and the point differential explains a lot about this team's success this season.
Go Huskies..!!
