After UConn winning, in order, some of my favorite things.

- Notre Dame losing
- Tennessee losing
- Syracuse losing

Yeah, kinda petty, liking when teams lose. Sue me. But I do like when certain teams win. Most of them are teams coached by former UConn coaches.

That brings me to Temple vs DePaul. Now, I really like DePaul and mainly due to their wonderful coach Doug Bruno. Geno's right hand man on his Olympic teams. But the fact that Tonya Cardozza, former UConn assistant coach, is coach of Temple makes them the team I love to root for. AND they are part of the AAC. UConn's conference needs every win they can get, especially against a top 25 team.

DePaul, usually one of the best three point shooting team in the country had a real tough time in this one. They were only 3-25 on threes. And all three were made by Amarah Coleman. Everyone else was 0-18. When three's are such a big part of your game, you can't shoot like that and win.

Temple turned the tables on them, making 11-25 threes. They were led by Feyonda Fitzgerald who scored 25 points and Alliya Butts who scored 20 points. Terrific guards with great ball handling skills and aggressive offensive games.

The conference game between UConn and this version of Temple should be quite interesting.

So, I'm writing the Ohio State game preview. I have who I believe will be the starters, the players coming off the bench. I figure I will look at the game they have Friday night to get another flavor of who they play and for how long. Well, now I have NO idea.

They started the freshman forward Tori McCoy. That was different. Ok, no big deal. I thought they would start Mavunga, who has sat the last few games with soreness. But she played in this game and Mavunga came off the bench. Ok, again, no big deal. I'll just switch the two players in my preview. Then I noticed a player I hadn't even had in my game preview. A player that hasn't played all season. And a player that will make an impact. One I totally forgot about.

Linnea Harper, the transfer from Kentucky was available for spring semester. I just didn't realize that started after finals. Harper was once a UConn recruit. I always liked her game. In her sophomore season at Kentucky, she was the shortest person in their history to lead the team in rebounding. She has a nice midrange game and can hit the occasional three pointer. I always enjoy watching her play, but I won't like it that much on Monday. Just one more weapon for a very talented Ohio State team that will just get better and better this year.

Ohio State beat up on Alabama State 118-61. They could give a lesson to Baylor on how to play out the sting without pouring it on when you are killing a team. Ohio State scored "only " 48 points in the second half after scoring 70 points in the first half.  Some interesting stats -

- 11 out of 12 players that saw minutes scored
- 7 players scored in double figures
- they scored 118 points and had 24 turnovers
- Alabama had 31 turnovers, so 55 in total for both teams
- Mavunga scored 23 points had 13 rebounds and 6 steals

This game did nothing to help me with my pregame report other than to make me more nervous!

UConn plays three more games in the month of December, starting Monday against Ohio State in Hartford. Wednesday, the Huskies hit the road for a contest in Lincoln, Nebraska. They finish the month on December 29th with an away game against Maryland in College Park. After these three games, UConn settles in for 12 straight AAC battles, before playing South Carolina on February 13th.

Ohio State enters Monday's game having never beaten Geno and the Huskies. They are 0-3. Nebraska and Maryland are also winless against Geno and the Huskies. Nebraska is 0-2, while Maryland is 0-5. As everyone keeps saying, you better beat UConn this season, because it will get much harder next year. Ask Notre Dame, FSU, Texas and Baylor... it is already hard to do. 8-)

Go Huskies..!!
