Well, there you have it!! UConn's path to hopefully one more AAC tournament championship.

The odds are with the Huskies. They have dominated the conference going 100-0 in the regular season and 15-0 in the tournament. That's five years of going undefeated against every team in the AAC. That is certainly a reflection of two things, how good UConn has been and how bad the AAC has been.

This UConn team is a little different. They haven't been quite as dominant as years past. But looking at who they would have to play, it shouldn't make a difference in the final results. The big wildcard is the health of Katie Lou's back spasms. But it appears she is recovering quickly. I watcher her closely on the bench and I didn't see any looks of pain that we saw when she tried to play in the second half of the game against Houston. She was able to get up and down off the bench with no issues and I did hear Geno say that she was doing much better. With no game until Saturday, I expect her to be 100%.

The first season is over and now it's time for season two. Three more games and hopefully three more wins. Looking forward to seeing who UConn will be playing in Albany as the No. 1 seed.

Here's a quote from a UConn "fan" who reportedly watched the Huskies play USF last night.

"I grabbed my Roget's this morning looking for a stronger word than “ugly” to describe last night's proceedings. “Repulsive” jumped out at me."

Hmmm...repulsive?  I would suggest that his evaluation of UConn's effort is more repulsive than the game. Consider:

1. USF scored only 4 points in the 4th quarter.
2. USF only tallied 47 points in a 40 minute game.
3. UConn's defense held the Bulls to 30.9% shooting and 18.8% from beyond the arc.
4. The defense created 17 turnovers, blocked 5 shots and had 13 steals.
5. Four starters for USF only scored 2, 3, 6 and 9 points all game.

Yes, but those are defensive stats. What about the offense? Well...

1. Crystal had 17 points and 9 assists.
2. UConn had 16 assists on 20 baskets.
3. The Huskies "won" the 2nd half, 32-18.
4. Four players scored in double figures.
5. Coombs played 20 solid minutes off the bench and scored 4 points.

UConn was playing without Katie Lou, at an away game, on short rest, at USF's Senior Night. I think "repulsive" can be reserved for an awful LOSS, at home, against a vastly inferior team. (DoggyDaddy here - Think David was talking about Tennessee vs Vanderbilt the other day???)

Go Huskies..!!
