In a move that certainly surprised me, Jen Rizzotti is leaving the University of Hartford for greener pastures, the A10's George Washington University. Rizzotti, 41. I posted several links with the details.
Jen has been at UHart for 17 years, starting at the age of 25. She had some successes but it's difficult to recruit good players to the school. I'm sure she will miss this area, but for her, it was just time to go and see what she can do at a better institution for women's basketball. George Washington is coming off consecutive Atlantic 10 championships and had to find a coach when Jonathan Tsipis was recently named coach at Wisconsin. She will have something to work with.
Good luck to one of my favorite Huskies. A great lady!

The Jordan Brand Classic was held Friday. You can still see it on ESPN3. Use the replay option.
Here are some links for the game. Still looking for the box score.

UConn's statistics for this season had some predictable results. There are also some really weird numbers. For example, Tierney Lawlor is the only Husky with more offensive rebounds than defensive boards. Here are several more:
1. Both Gabby Williams and Katie Lou Samuelson made 147 baskets this year. However, KLS made 78 threes in that total, while Gabby made 0.
2. Gabby did not even try a three point shot this season. She tried one last year.
3. Collier and Butler are the only Huskies with more turnovers than assists.
4. Napheesa shot 91.7% from the free throw line, but only 15.4% from the 3 pt arc.
5. Morgan Tuck only had 10 blocked shots, while KLS had only 6. Meanwhile, MoJeff had 8.
6. The only Huskies to play in all 38 games were Kia, Gabby and Napheesa.
7. Napheesa had more blocked shots (47) than Gabby, Butler and Tuck combined (44).
Go Huskies..!!
