What an incredible end to an incredible season. 38-0. Championship No. 11 for Geno and UConn. Four consecutive championships for Stewart, Jefferson and Tuck.

It makes my heart pound to think about all the accomplishments, all the awards, the accolades....I'm running out of "a" words. Amazing, awesome, artistic. I'm sure there are more.

In this game, there were so many individual highlights, I will have to watch the game against just to make a note of each one.

All I can say is that I feel privileged to watch this team play, to write about them every day and to share this with so many wonderful UConn fans. I only wish I had gone to the game.

As someone that has been a fan of this team for over 30 years, when they show the many former UConn players in the stands wearing UConn garb, doing the cheers and dances with the band, and just showing their support for the program and the coach they love, it just gives me chills.

And speaking of chills, and tears. I know that when I saw the three seniors come off the court for the last time and the happiness and pure joy on their faces, I got all choked up.

AND....when Polly hit that jumper, the tears were flowing and I'm not embarrassed to say it. I don't think I've seen a bigger smile on Geno when that shot went through the net.    

This year was predestined. You could tell from the first tip off of the season. Nothing was going to stop them.

I have so much more to say and it will take days of watching the game and gathering my thoughts.

Whew....just whew!!
