Just David's numbers and some links. The UConn links are dwindling down, but I'll continue with the WNBA and USA links as I find them. I'm sure I'll have something to say when I have more time.

Just like with UConn's 3 point defense, critics were quick to label the Husky's 3 point shooting as a liability. With the best 3 point shooter of all time graduating, the pressure was placed squarely on freshman Katie Lou Samuelson. Critics were predictably insufferable when KLS went through the expected early season yips.. But, UConn has many talented 3 point shooters and the team & KLS soon found their groove. Consider:
1. In the first 10 games of the season, UConn went 66-190 from beyond the arc. That is 34.7%.
2. As KLS warmed up to the college game, in the next 10 games the Huskies improved to 87-231 or 37.6%.
3. In games 21-32, the team scored 89 threes on 243 attempts, good for a 36.6% rate.
4. Just as they did with 3 point defense, the Huskies took things up a notch in the NCAA tournament with their shooting, hitting 53-111 or 47.7%.
5. For the season, UConn made 295 -775 from outside the arc, or 38.1%. 6. Last season the Huskies made 40.6% of their threes and in the 2013-14 season they made 36.6%.
7. Katie Lou finished the season with 78 made threes and a shooting % of 39.4%. Over the 2nd half of the year, KLS made over 45% of her attempts.
Every starter for UConn made at least 28 three point baskets. (Tuck made 28-87.) After KLS, Moriah and Kia had 53 and 51 threes. Stewie chipped in 46 and Saniya and Courtney combined for 34. Balanced scoring from every player made the defense pay for any double team or help. UConn scored 26.4% of their points from outside the 3 pt arc. Their main game is inside and close to the basket, but the three keeps opponents honest.
Go Huskies..!!
