Here is Geno's Pre Game interview before the Central Florida game. He certainly is worried about dealing with UCF's physical play. And I do understand that. This version of UConn is not very physical. When asked about playing Batula Camara, he said maybe she can play some if she doesn't foul every other possession. He told the reporters to not ask about Coombs. He has nothing to say about her. Oy. That is not good. He clearly is not happy with her play.

I'm more concerned with this game now that I've seen Geno talk about it. But I still think they will shoot well enough to win this game going away.

Plenty of Top 25 games on Sunday. A few comments on the more interesting ones.

No. 11 Maryland at Indiana. The Terrapins can't afford another conference loss and it won't be easy against the Hoosiers on the road. Indiana already has a top 15 upset at home in beating Michigan State. I expect Maryland to win, but who knows?

Two 17-1 teams will play each other. One is ranked 6th and one is ranked 21st. Stanford is at Utah in a game that Stanford should win going away. Utah hasn't played anyone except ranked Arizona State, and they lost that game. The Utes have a tough three game stretch with Stanford, No. 5 Oregon and No. 9 Oregon State coming up. It's possible that they will be leaving the Top 25 as fast as the entered.

Undefeated North Carolina State is at Georgia Tech in a game they should win. But does the pressure of the undefeated season get to them here? They are the last remaining undefeated team. (I wrote undefeated four time including this one, it has to be a jinx).

In a non-Top 25 game, Tennessee looks to break their 6 game losing streak at home against 12-6 LSU. The pressure is really building on the Lady Vols. We shall see if the smoke Holly was blowing up the player's ass about how well they played for 2 1/2 quarters against Notre Dame gives the poor girls some confidence.

I get the need for a "deep bench." But frankly, I prefer 2-3 players who can give the starters a quick breather, then sit back down. I want starters to play critical minutes, all the time. Starters start for a reason.

UCF has a deep bench. They play everyone. 8 different players have started and 10 have 200 minutes or more. UConn's highest playing sub is Kyla with 188 minutes. The problem is their 3 best subs average 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7 points per game. Their 2nd leading scorer has 170 points. UConn's 5th leading scorer has 199 points, in fewer games. That 2nd leading scorer for UCF averages 20.2 minutes per game. That means she is on the bench for 50% of the game. That's dumb. Imagine Geno playing Pheesa half the time...

The talent level drops even when UConn plays their subs. It really drops when UCF gets down to the 8th, 9th or 10th player. Watch how deep the UCF coach goes on Sunday with her subs. And, watch what Lou, Pheesa and Crystal do to that 9th or 10th player. Just saying...
