Well, we made it. We left the hotel in Emporia at 7:00 AM and got home at 3:20. That's 8 hours of driving and one 20 minute stop to grab lunch and get gas. I'm so happy that we did it in two days and when we go next year, I'm pretty sure we will do the same thing again.
It's good to be home. My golf clubs and new driver will be here by the end of the week. Courses are opening, so golf won't be too far around the corner!!
And as crazy as I am, I went to my bowling league and just got home at 10:30. I will sleep good tonight.
I need to take more time off. I shot a 181, 192, and a 243. Crazy.

Congrats to Rennia Davis of Tennessee. She won the final US basketball writers player of the week award. She averaged 20.5 points 10.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in her two games. She shot 48.4% (15-31) from the field, 2-6 on threes and 81.8% from the foul line (9-11).
Pretty good stats, but you have to into perspective who they played. One game was against Ole Miss, just a terrible team and the worst in the SEC and the other was against Auburn, a sub-.500 team as well.
Let's look at another player's stats for the week.
In three games she averaged 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. She shot 60% (27-45) from the field, 67% on threes (12-18) and 100% (3-3) on free throws.
Two of the games were against better AAC teams (although nothing to brag about).
Her shooting percentages were just outrageous. Hard to ignore. Yet they were.
Yes, those are Megan Walker's stats for the week. You can decide who deserved the award more.

UConn’s three point shooting is still below 40% thru 29 games. However, three key players are above the 40% line and improving. Anna is now at 41% (54-133). Crystal is at 42% (64-154) and seems to hit her threes when her team mates are cold from outside the arc. Finally, Megan has been in fire hitting 45% (69-153).
Three good three point shooters are key for beating better teams. It spreads the floor and opens up the lane. The good news is all three ( Anna, Meg & Crystal) can also drive into the lane and finish in traffic.
The one puzzlement this season has been Christyn. She is 38-116 or 33%. When she is on, everything goes in. When not hot, nothing goes in. To advance in the NCAA big dance, the Huskies need 3, maybe 4, hot shooters from outside the arc. We will see...
Go Huskies..!!
