GO UCONN!!!!!
Geno - "The team played a FLAWLESS game"
Well, that was refreshing. Revenge is sweet and this one was just delicious. UConn beat up on Marquette 81-52 in a game that the Huskies had total control over from beginning to end.
They had all ten players available but it was the starting lineup that carried the day. All five players were in double digit scoring with three players garnering double doubles.
Edwards led the way with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Juhasz had 14 points and 11 rebounds for her double double. And Nika had 11 points and 10 rebounds for a terrific double double.
It's late and I'm tired so just a few observations.
I hope this is the Nika we see the rest of the season. So aggressive to the basket on drives. She only missed a couple but when she does that, she can pass to the wings for open threes if they collapse on her. In the last game against Villanova she took 2 shots. She needs to take more and it looks like she is getting the message.
Edwards is back. Strong and aggressive, Geno was thrilled with her play in this game.
Fudd couldn't hit her deep shot but you know it's only a matter of time. She played 21 minutes in this game. The championship game, a week of practice and the first couple of NCAA games will help her get into form. And when she does.....look out!!
It's great to feel like they can beat Villanova and get to the Final Four again. Bring on all comers!!
Here is my UConn/Villanova Pregame Report.

.@allieziebell 5-10 Guard 2024 out of Neenah HS, WI and one of the top 5 players in the country (Espn) poured in 26 points in the Sectional final loss… Ziebell (Uconn Commit) is the prototypical guard with a long gliding athletic frame who can flat hoop. Smooth operator. https://t.co/MOIcBjna9f

I just can't figure out Charlie SECreme. Some of his seedings just make me scratch my head.

He punished UConn for not having Fudd back but now that she is back he doesn't account for that. And Notre Dame, who was clobbered by unranked Louisville and lost Miles for what looks like an extended period of time didn't move from the 3 seed position. While UConn wins two games in their tournament and stay at a 3 seed. Please.
Here is a chart that makes is clear as a bell where UConn belongs.
It's hard to read but trust me. UConn deserves a No. 1 seed over Virginia Tech, Stanford and Marland. It's a toss up with Iowa. Especially if UConn wins on Monday.
I'll wait for the BE tournament to see what happens. A UConn win and he doesn't move them to the 2 line? Bah....I'll just wait for the committee's final brackets.

South Carolina stayed undefeated and won the SEC conference title with an easy 74-58 win over overmatched Tennessee. I'm sure the Lady Vols were feeling cocky after beating LSU in the semi-finals, but they had no shot against the Gamecocks. Zia Cooke led thw way with 24 points. Twin towers Boston and Cardoso had 31 points and 15 rebounds between them. Tennessee's Horston is a talented player but her facial expressions after making a great play really turn me off. She is easy to root against.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Iowa beat Ohio State 105-72 to win the Big Ten Conference final. Congrats to the Hawkeyes. And of course, Caitlin Clark led the way with a 30 point, 10 rebounds and 17 assists triple double. She is the best player in the country. A great team that SECreme has a a two seed. Fair enough, but let's remember that UConn beat them earlier in the season. That has to count for something.

Congrats to Washington State for their PAC12 tournament titlle. Wow. They beat No. 3 Utah, 20 Colorado and 19 UCLA to do it. Very impressive and they now have the automatic bid to the tournement. Does this knock out another at large team? We will find out soon enough.
