In case you missed it, here is my UConn/Cincinnati Preview

    *********************************************************************

UConn's future was on display Saturday at the Raatz Fence/ O'Shea's Classic tourney in Kentucky. Both Geno and Shea were there to watch Naphessa Collier and Crystal Dangerfield play in back to back games.

Napheesa Collier scored 29 (13-16 fg) and Crystal Dangerfield 21 as Incarnate Word and Blackman both picked up wins.

Here are the replays for both games.

Also on Saturday (1/24) Katie Lou Samuelson scored 31 in a 61-47 Mater Dei win

    *********************************************************************
And another Top Twenty Five team goes down. No. 24 Western Kentucky lost to UTexas - San Antonio 64-63. Western Kentucky had a 16 point lead in the second half before allowing UTSA to come back and score the winning basket with 3 seconds left in the game. I can't see them getting back into the top twenty five again this season.

    *********************************************************************
Baylor won it's 17th consecutive game, beating Kansas State 68-46. They were led by Alexis Prince's 18 points. It's great to see her playing and playing well after a few years of working through bad feet and leg injuries. She has stayed at it and is finally seeing results for all her hard work.

              *********************************************************************

Notre Dame hammered Clemson 74-36. With all the complaints coming from WCBB fans about the AAC and how weak they are, Clemson is a good example that bad basketball is not unique to the AAC. Can you imagine how UConn would do against Clemson? The Tigers would win the Ugly Game of the Day award hands down.

              *********************************************************************

    Ugly Game Of The Day

It's almost insulting to all the other ugly games to give this award to an independent team. But New Jersey Tech outdid themselves.

They lost to Pennsylvania 58-29, the first UGOTD award given to a team under 30 points.

They shot 24% from the field and 1-10 from beyond the arc. 29 points? UGLY.

     Honorable Mention

    Campbell 40 points, 25% FG pct., 22% 3PT FG Pct., 18 turnovers

Delaware State 38 points, 25% FG pct., 13% 3PT FG Pct., 23 turnovers

    Clemson 36 points, 28% FG pct., 25% 3PT FG Pct., 19 turnovers

San Diego State 36 points, 30% FG pct., 8% 3PT FG Pct., 18 turnovers

     ********************************************************

     So, without further ado!!!
