I just want to quickly thank all of you for reading my blog. My view numbers are growing like crazy and it just motivates me more to add more information, be more creative and just have more fun writing this for you all. Now, for my paid announcement, please click on the ads. You don't have to do anything else. I would really appreciate it. Even an old dog like me needs some cash to by the bones!!!

And speaking of thanks, I want to thank RadyLady, UconnChappette and Icebear for all their hard work in creating a terrific message board for UConn women's basketball fans. They did a great job with the format. Between that site for conversation and immediate news and this Blog for links and game pre and post game reports, why go anywhere else?

There are three new addition to the Top Twenty Five AP rankings, Western Kentucky, Minnesota and wait for it....wait for it....PRINCETON!!!!

#25 Western Kentucky - They have only lost 2 games, both on the road. One to ranked Louisville and one to Mississippi State. They are currently on a 9 game winning streak. But other than Tulane, every opponent in that streak has an RPI of over 114.

#23 Minnesota - The Golden Gophers have had a terrific season so far and are well deserved of a top 25 ranking. Their only loss is to Vanderbilt. Their big win was against 12th ranked Nebraska, but I haven't been impressed with the Cornhuskers this season, despite their lofty ranking. They have a tough Big Ten game in their next outing against Maryland.

#22 Princeton - One of the few undefeated teams left. Now that they have cracked the top 25, they will only be rising in the rankings as the season goes on. There is a very good possibility they go undefeated until the NCAA tournament. To their credit, they beat Wake Forest, Pittsburgh and Michigan, all Power-5 teams. And they won their first game after joining the top 25 Monday night against Hampton.

Ugly Game of the night

Speaking of Power 5 teams, I don't think you will find an uglier game this season than the one between undefeated Mississippi State and now 10-5 Missouri. I mean REALLY REALLY ugly. here are some low-lights.

Missouri - 29% from the field, 29% on 3's, 16-32 on FT's, 5 assists and 22 TO's.

Mississippi - 28% from the field, 30% on 3's, 11-16 on FT's, 10 assists and  27 TO's.

There are some bad games in every conference but I can't imagine any games being played worse than this one.

Well, this one wasn't worse but the Tennessee - Vanderbilt game tonight was close. Boy, there was some terrible basketball.

Yes, it was the #7 ranked Lady Vols against their arch rival The Commodores (no, not the group). Usually a great game.

While the announcer couldn't have been more impressed with Tennessee's rebounding effort, with their 17 offensive rebounds, they dutifully ignore the total lack of offensive execution by Tennessee. They run this globetrotter weave to nowhere, handing off the ball at the top of the circle endless times until they take whatever shot they can find and rebound the miss.

Thankfully for the Lady Vol fans, Tennessee was able to hold on in this game, winning 57-49 by hitting most of their foul shots while being fouled at the end of the game. SEC player of the week, Harrison had 3 points and 5 rebounds and 4 fouls.

Tennessee shot 36% from the field, 29% on 3's, had 7 assists and 20 TO's. Ugly ball.

Oh, UConn beat Vanderbilt earlier this season, 91-52. PLEASE put them in UConn's Bracket...pretty please!!!!
