So, this comment I can't let go. I read somewhere that, and I quote -

"KML isn't playing like someone who want's to be the #1 pick of the WNBA draft? I can't help but think she disappears in games and isn't playing with the urgency of a senior."

The timing of these comments appear to be curious. Sure, she was coming off a weaker offensive game. But the 4 games before, she averaged 19 points a game and she was 14-22 on 3's.

Was the point that she wasn't selfish enough in order to pad her stats to improve her draft position? That is so against what UConn is all about. UConn and Geno hammer that home every day.

As long as they are winning, I'm sure that KML is not concerned with her stats.

I guess it's Triple Double week.

Awesome performances, ladies!!!!

I was channel surfing and came upon the Texas Tech/Kansas State game on one of the foxsports network.

It was 35-34 Texas Tech with 11:07 left in the game. I went to stir the spaghetti sauce and put away the laundry and it was 37-35 Kansas State leading. Someone must have hit a three pointer that I didn't see but the time on the clock was under 8:00. I have now watched another 3 minutes and finally
Texas Tech tied the score with 4:40 left in the game to a drive to the basket.

In the last 4:40 I saw two baskets (none by TT), three airballs, a few TO's, and a lot of wasted movement that don't lead to open shots.

The Final score was 41-38 with Kansas State outscoring Texas Tech 7-3 over the last 11 minutes of the game. Texas Tech missed a 3 at the buzzer to tie. And after the game the announcer said "and the rims were so so tight today". Lol...yeah...it was the rims.

I had to add this game to the UGLY game of the day award. It's rare you have two teams so ugly.

I'm sorry, but there is no way these teams are any better than anyone in the AAC other than maybe the bottom two teams in the conference. The next time someone says an AAC game looks like a HS game, they need to watch a reply of this game.

Ugly Game Of The Day

We have an early entry and I doubt there will be another contender.

High Point University his a low point in their game Saturday against Liberty.

They only scored 41 points. I thought that was ugly.....
They only shot 21% from the field. I thought that was ugly...
They shot 0-10 on three's. I thought that was ugly.....
They had 23 turnovers. I thought that was ugly...

All together, it was so UGLY I'm awarding the Panthers TWO Uggys!

Congrats HPU Panthers!!!! You win the UGOTD, UGOTD awards.

CO-UGGY

It's hard to have this game be honorable mention. It was so ugly that I have to award them the award as well. Co-uggy of the day!!

As  I mentioned above, the Texas Tech/Kansas State game was just horrid. So ugly I had trouble watching the last 11 minutes when I tuned it. It actually hurt my eye. What I do for you!!!

So, here are the ugly numbers -

Kansas State - 41 points, 32% from the field, 29% (5-17) beyond the arc, 19 turnovers
Texas Tech - 38 points, 24% from the field, 11% (3-26) beyond the arc, 13 turnovers

Congrats to the Wildcats and Red Raiders for setting WCBB back a few decades.

Honorable Mention

Incarnate Word - 34 points, 27% from the field, 0% (0-8) on three's and 23 turnovers
Bucknell - 41 points, 35% from the field, 7% (1-15) on three's and 25 turnovers
USC - 35 points, 25% from the field, 11% (1-9) on three's and 15 turnovers

 So, without further ado!!!
