Logan climbed into his umbrella stroller and watched TV. Hopefully it's the UConn game!!!!

UConn just hammered DePaul 103-69 with some incredibly efficient basketball. UConn basketball.
Well, I guess Samuelson is ok....and so is Williams. Oh my, what will the complainers do now? Oh yeah, DePaul, keeping in their regular rotation scored 18 straight points before a Molly Bent layup closed out the scoring. Why did that happen? To make my 35 point spread look pretty darn good!!!
Don't mess with the Doggy!!!
Before the bench came in, UConn had 34 assists on 39 baskets. Amazing.
And how exciting for Batouly Camara to finally see her first UConn minutes!!! Just garbage time, but it's a start!!!
Here is my UConn/DePaul Post Game Report

Top 25 upset. Well, not an upset to me. I had a good feeling that Florida Gulf Coast would beat No. 20 Kentucky and they did, leading for most of the game before finally winning 70-64.
I've been saying from the beginning of the season that Kentucky, Missouri and Texas A&M were overrated SEC teams, only ranked because of the conference they are in.

I've been having a bit of a disagreement with a Tennessee fan. He posts after every Tennessee win how great the freshman are. He called them a "game changer".
Well, the teams they have played have RPI's of 137, 146, 201, 68, 85, 41, 66, 225 and 100. Not exactly a difficult schedule. And as with most teams in that range of talent, you rarely find any effective height to combat the taller Lady Vols.
To make a judgement based on play against those teams is premature.
And even their stats against those teams don't show game changers.
Of their 4 freshmen class, I would say that Rennia Davis is making the biggest impact. She is a very good athlete in the Glory Johnson mode. She was supposed to be an outside thread as well, but she is only 3-18 so far this season on threes. She is averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds.
The highest ranked player is Evina Westbrook, a point guard. And she does had the passing skills to play that position. But as a freshman, she is having the typical shooting woes. 42% from the field and 33% on threes. She does have 5 assists per game but her scoring is only 7 per game and her foul shooting is at 56%.
The third freshman is Anastasia Hayes, a quick as a bunny guard. She is really quick. And against most teams, she will be a handful. But like Westbrook, she is struggling from the field. But she does score 12 point per game. Most of those are on drives to the basket. In fact, most are on end-to-end drives. She just gets the ball and takes off where she usually gets fouled. She has gotten to the foul line 74 times. UConn as a team has only gotten to the line 115 times.
Lastly, their big freshman Kasiyahna Kushkituah, the 6'4" center, looks a little out of places as most bigs do their freshman year. A little slow for the fast paced world of WCBB. She had a foot injury and has only played 5 games. I don't think she will contribute much this season.

Of course I have a bias against anything Tennessee. Yes, immature, but I come by it honestly. These young ladies are all talented in their own right and who knows? Maybe I'm way off base and building up stats against weak opponents doesn't mean anything.
We will know more after the game against Texas. The Longhorns haven't played much of a schedule either, but their backcourt duo of Seniors Brooke McCarty and Ariel Adkins is tough and will be a real challenge for this young Tennessee backcourt.
Either way, I'll give my rundown of the game Sunday night!

By David in Naples!!!!!
UConn goes for 8 in a row tonight against DePaul. Three-point shooting will be a major part of DePaul's game plan. According to DoggyDaddy, they make 36.5% of their three-point tries. UConn has only let opponents make 29.6% of those long-range shots. Something must give in that battle. Likewise, the Huskies make 39.2% of their shots from beyond the arc. DePaul has held opponents to a 27.6% success rate. Making threes will be key tonight.
Watch for Z and Napheesa to work inside against smaller DePaul defenders. Z is hitting 71.4% of her non-three point shots. Collier has made 51% of her closer in shots, so far this season. Both players should be able to exploit their size against the tiny Blue Demons.
Go Huskies..!!
Here is a half time Numbers from David!!!
Halftime update - UConn is up by 23 points, 61-38. That’s right, the Huskies hung 61 points on DePaul in the 1st half. UConn has 21 assists on 24 baskets. Most importantly, UConn leads in the battle of 3 pointers. Both teams have made 7 from beyond the arc, but the Blue Demons have tried 23. That gives them a 30% accuracy rate. The Huskies have tried only 15 threes and are making 47%. Overall, UConn is shooting 60% from the field. Oh, Pheesa and Z are tearing up DePaul’s interior defense with 26 points between them. UConn for the win..!!
And a final Numbers!!!!
UConn crushes DePaul tonight, 103-69. It wasn’t even close.
Numbers that matter tonight:
1. UConn scores 103 points.
2. DePaul scoring by quarter before subs came in...20, 18, 9 and 4.
3. Huskies with 34 assists on 41 baskets.
4. Crystal 6-7 from three range.
5. Gabby and Napheesa both had double-doubles.
Numbers that don’t matter at all.
1. DePaul took 43 three point shots, made 12. Sad..
2. 10 players for DePaul tried a 3 point shot. So what..?
3. UConn has 21 turnovers. Big deal...
4. DePaul used 10 players in the first 20 minutes. And, still gave up 61 pts.
5. Batouly played 3 minutes. But, she played..!!!!!
Go Huskies..!!
