As one of my readers pointed out, they just gave up too many offensive boards, had some bad turnovers and looked tentative for too much of the game.
It took a great effort by the home team and a poorly executed game by the Huskies to keep this game close, yet UConn still pulled it out. This is one tough team.
Here is my UConn/Texas Post Game Report

They have this thing called a "Game Thread" on a couple of the UConn message boards. On one of them, a particular poster (SLUconn) is always trashing players. Any mistake and he is all over that player. I think he believes that the players are robots.
Does it make him feel good to do this in a public forum about 18-21 year old young women? What a piece of work.
His latest attack was on the two missed free throws by Katie Lou Samuelson. He called her "Choke City". Wow. I mean, really? Take a look at this picture from her Instagram.
Someone needs to take a break from the game. That is totally out of line.

Only three top 25 games Tuesday night but we have one upset, one almost upset and one on it's way to an upset.
No. 19 Michigan beat No. 8 Ohio State 84-75 on the Buckeye's home court. Michigan had three players with 20 points or more with the rest of the team only scoring 16 points. It was a great shooting night for the Wolverines. They were 54% from the field, 57% on threes and 18-20 from the foul line. Ohio State, on the other hand, had a terrible shooting night. They were 36% from the field 6-30 on threes (20%). Typical poor Ohio State defensive effort.
In Maryland, the No. 14 Terps were able to hang on and beat Indiana 74-70 after being down 4 going into the fourth quarter. Indiana is now 8-12 and had no business giving Maryland a tough game.
Unranked Nebraska upset No. 18 Iowa. Nebraska had the lead for almost the entire game before winning by 9 points. Nebraska actually has a better conference record at 4-2 than Iowa at 3-3. Iowa has now lost three of their last four games. Why are they still in the top 25? We will find out in the next release of the rankings.

By David in Naples!!!!!
Last night's victory over Texas was a triumph of will and conditioning for UConn. Texas came out fired up and shooting the lights out. Five and a half minutes in, the Longhorns had made 4 threes and led 20-10. That is usually what the Huskies do to other teams. It was put up or shut up time for UConn. They closed out the quarter with a 9-2 run and cut the lead to 3 points.
The end of the quarter runs didn't end there. At the end of the 2nd quarter, UConn finished with a 10-1 spurt. The Huskies led by one point. This is patented UConn basketball. How about the 3rd period? More of the same. This time a 7-4 point pop and a 6 point lead. In the last 4 minutes, with the Huskies clinging to a 1 point lead, UConn ended the game with a 6-3 run and beat Texas by 4 pts.
Add up those four end of the quarter runs and UConn outscored the Longhorns 32-10. The will to win and superior conditioning always appear at the end of periods and halves. More often than not, that gets UConn the win.
Go Huskies..!!
