Happy 40th Anniversary to my wonderful wife!!!

The open practice Saturday afternoon was amazing. Here are my impressions:

- I knew they worked hard, but they just don't stop. They run drill after drill and then they run another drill.

- The male practice players would in the national championship if they were a team in WCBB. They really make the ladies work hard. It must seem like a picnic in games after playing against these guys.

- Mo Jefferson plays as hard in practice as she does in games. She was diving for lose balls all over the court. And she got to the rim against the men. Whenever she wanted.

- Ekmark looked good and she had some really nice moments in practice. She also looked lost at times. Still a work in progress.

- Collier looks bigger in person. She has amazingly long arms and legs. No wonder she plays taller than she is.

- Samuelson shot a lot better in practice than in the exhibition games. I feel good about that carrying forward against OSU.

- Nothing funnier than Geno after the team botches a play in practice. Shaking his head. Rubbing his temples.

- Geno asked out loud what the difference is between the men and women's game. He replied "the men make layups". There was a smattering of laughs in the crowd. Geno turned to us and said "it's not funny, don't laugh"...and "I mean it, it's not funny". He was truly annoyed.

- Stewart asks a lot of question during the workout. Eventually Geno said she should just play.

Thanks to my friend sTu who invited me to the practice. I brought my wife and she loved it. I thought she would be bored but Geno keeps the practice moving so there was something new to see all the time.

I added a link to my lists of blogs at the end of the Dailies. It's to A Dime Back. Great site with information and opinion on UConn sports including the Women's team. You might even see my blog linked there occasionally!!! Take a look, it's worth it.

It was a pretty quiet night in WCBB. Only a few top 25 teams played.  And not to many UConn articles.
