Here is my UConn - Nebraska Pregame Report

How low can you go??? It's hard not to feel badly for the North Carolina women basketball fans. The Tarheels were inaccurately ranked in the opening poll. They quickly dropped two games to Gardner-Webb and Oregon. After a four game winning streak over several weaker teams, they lost Wednesday to Pacific 66-63 at home. They only played 7 players and the team has got to be frustrated and tired. I especially feel bad for their seniors.

It's going to be a long season.

Napheesa Collier is quickly earnings Geno's trust, coming off the bench early and often. Her stats, in just two games, are eye opening.

1. Collier has played 33 minutes, 2nd most off the bench to Katie Lou's 34.
2. Napheesa has 15 rebounds, tied with Morgan for 3rd on the team.
3. But, Collier leads the team with 7 offensive boards, ahead of Stewie and Gabby with 6.
4. She is 2nd on the team in foul shots taken and is 9-11 or 82%.

5. Collier leads the team with only 1 turnover, but matched that with 1 assist, 1 block and 3 steals.
6. Her 3-8 shooting will improve, but she has shown a willingness to take it to the hoop.
7. She is averaging 7.5 pts per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. Great for a freshman..!

Weird stats of the week:
1. Moriah has taken only 1 foul shot, and missed it. She has taken 5 threes and made only 1. But she is shooting 74% from inside the arc.

2. Most accurate shooter through 2 games is Tierney Lawlor, 2-2 with two swishes. She has closed out both games with the final shot.
