My wonderful and talented cousin Ted Fink has a songwriter competition for one of his songs.
He sent out the instrumental and we were supposed to send in lyrics. The song is called Riffin’.
Riffin’ is when you just make up music without lyrics for example on a guitar.
I made it to the final four!!! Now it’s time for the public to vote.

Ok….a few tidbits on the Towson Tigers. As I said in another blog, Towson earned a berth by winning the Colonial Athletic Association championship over Drexel 53-49 in a surprising result. Towson ended up 20-12 on the season and only 11-7 in the conference. in an example of what we might be seeing Friday, Towson lost to Syracuse earlier in the season 98-55.
The Tigers are not a very good shooting team. They only shoot 39% from the field and 28% on threes. They do rebound well averaging 42 per game, not surprising with their size against the smaller teams in their conference and their weak OOC schedule. They only pass for 11 assists per game and are a little sloppy with 17 turnovers per game. With 9 steals per game and 6 blocks per game Towson looks to get extra possessions to make up for their poor shooting.
Towson is led by Kionna Jeter, a 5'8" RS sophomore guard. She averages 17.3 PPG. She takes around six three pointers per game but only hits them at a 30% rate. Nukiya Mayo, a 6'3" junior forward is the second leading scorer and the only other player averaging double digit scoring at 14.5 and leads the Tigers in rebounding at 7.6 RPG. Q. Murray, 5'9" RS junior is the point guard on this team and is the only player who has more assists than turnovers and averages around 4.5 assists per game. The other two starters are Ryan Holder, a 5'11" junior guard and 6'4" RS Senior Maia Lee the second leading rebounder on the team.
Towson goes 9 deep with 5'10" senior guard Danielle Durjan, 6'5" freshman center Jeneen Camp, 5'9" sophomore guard Jalynn Holmes and 6'3" forward freshman Aislinn Flynn. I have a feeling we won't see much of the freshmen off the bench.
This game should be a lot tougher than UConn's usual 1 vs 16 game, I mean, they are a 15 seed!! Just kidding. Geno will want to play his regular rotation plenty in this one after all this time off. They need to get back in the swing of things, especially Katie Lou. Because of that, UConn should break the 100 point barrier and win this one by 50 points. It could get very ugly. The last first round game I went to, I believe UConn jumped out to a 30-2 lead. It might not be that bad, but it won't be that much better.

Part I
Fans of various teams are trying to figure who got the hardest bracket for the NCAA tournament. Of course, everyone thinks their team got screwed and their hated rival received a rose petal covered path to the Final Four. Remember, fan is short for fanatic.
One method for evaluating how good a set of particular teams in a bracket are is to total their combined losses. For example, the 16 teams in the Albany bracket have 126 total losses. Here is the breakdown on total losses by each bracket, with the top two teams in that bracket.
Chicago - (ND and Stanford) = 109 losses
Portland - (Miss. State and Oregon) = 119 losses
Greensboro - (Baylor and Iowa) = 121 losses
Albany ( L'ville and UConn) = 126 losses.
Any team can schedule a bunch of cupcakes to pad their win/loss record. (see Maryland) But, nobody tries to get beat, so losses tell more about the stregnth of a team. According to that thinking, Albany is the easiest bracket and Chicago is the hardest. Candidly, it probably matters more who the best two teams are in a bracket when trying to determine the easiest path to the Final Four. ND and MSU may have to play Stanford (28-4) and Oregon (29-4). Baylor may end up against Iowa (26-6). So here are the top two teams' combined losses by bracket.
Chicago - ND and Stanford have 7 losses.
Portland - Miss. State and Oregon have 6 losses
Greensboro - Baylor and Iowa have 7 losses
Albany - L'Ville and UConn have 5 losses.
I guess we will just have to wait and watch how the games play out.
Part II
While many UConn fans are upset at the insult of getting a #2 seed in Albany, I'll take the Huskies draw and be happy.
Here are my reasons why:
1. Baylor, Miss. State and Oregon are all on the other side and at worst, UConn would only meet one and it would be in the Final game.
2. UConn's regional is in Albany, practically a home game.
3. The #1 in Albany is L'ville. (not Notre Dame)
4. The #3 team in our region is Maryland and they are a fraud. Maryland lost to every ranked team they played.
5. The soonest UConn would face ND (or Stanford) is in the semifinal game at the Final Four.
6. L'ville has to beat Oregon State to reach the regional final.
7. Katie Lou is back and healthy.
8. The players are pissed about the #2 seed in Albany.
Go Huskies..!!
