We made it down safe and sound. It was an easy flight and my 3 year old grandson was a real trooper.

Finally, some Top 25 games. Wednesday has a pretty full slate.
The big game is No. 1 South Carolina continuing their tough schedule with a game against the up and coming Duke team, now up to No. 15 in the rankings. This will be a true test for Coach Kara Lawson's team. But I gotta go with the Gamecocks and by a double digit margin.
Other than that, my guess is the margin of victory average for all the other top 25 teams in action will be 30+ points. Yes, a lot of cupcakes!!
And in other news, the USA Today Coaches Poll is out and UConn is No. 6, down 4 spots from their lofty No. 2 position. They actually dropped the same 4 spots in this poll as they did in the AP poll but started out one spot higher. The best part is that Tennessee is No. 9 in the USA Today poll.

Not sure what the criteia is for "great things", but Maya Moore comes to mind. Rene Montgomery is part owner and Vice-President of the Atlanta Dream. Rebecca Lobo ring a bell? Several Division I head coaches, Shea Ralph and Carla Berube are two. I could go on, but their hate of Geno has turned their brains to mush.

How could someone who doesn't lead the Huskies in any important statistical area be so important? Because she is the glue holding this team together. Of course, we are talking about Evina Westbrook and the great leadership role she has assumed for UConn.
Consider:
1. Evina is 3rd in scoring with 85 points, but scored every point in the 4th quarter losses to SC and Georgia Tech. She had 11 pts in the 1st quarter of UCLA.
2. She is 3rd on the team in rebounding with 33.
3. She leads the team with 10 made threes.
4. Westbrook is 2nd in assists with 33 and will take over 1st place next game.
5. Evina has been fouled more than any other Husky. She has the most made free throws with 23. Christyn s 2nd with 17 made charity tries.
6. She is 2nd on the team in steals with 11. Paige is first with 16.
Evina does everything well, but doesn't do it with flash. She is steady, game in and game out, giving the Huskies whatever they need. She is the glue holding the ship together while the walking wounded heal.
