GO UCONN!!!!!

  UConn Huskies                                            Creighton Bluejays
          62                                                       60

So, everyone ok? I mean...seriously? I know that I'm not. I'm still waiting for my heart rate to come down.

I'll be honest. Down 9 going into the fourth quarter, the team can't hit the broad side of a barn, and I'm planning out a sad blog.

But then Caroline happened. The Huskies outscored Creighton 23-12 in the fourth quarter gettting key stop after key stop, hitting clutch shot after clutch shot. And behind 10 points (her only points) in the quarter by Ducharme the Huskies pulled it out.

Un-friggin-believable.

Geno looked exhausted in the post game interview but he couldn't say enough about Caroline. "She is one tough mother". What a comment by Geno. And she is. Coming back from that concussion, getting her first action, getting knocked down only minutes after coming in, and then performing like she did? WOW!!!

Down 6 with 3 minutes left, Ducharme hit a shot and got fouled, fouling out Saunders, who had gone 3-3 on threes in the game. She hit the free throw to close the gap to 3. UConn grabbed the lead but Creighton, who I can't say enough about, hit a three by Maly to take the lead back 60-58. Lopez tied it up with a jumper with 47 seconds left.

UConn had a chance to go ahead but Juhasz missed a three pointer. With 16 seconds left and a chance for the Blur Jays to take the lead, Maly was called for an offensive foul giving UConn a chance to take the lead. Caroline made that happen by drawing a foul and hitting both free throws with 4.8 seconds left. Creighton had two free throws to tied the game with .4 left and missed the first and missed the second intentionally and the Huskies get the victory. It was just incredible.

Lou led the team with 17 points. Edwards had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Point-center Juhasz had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Nika played all 40 minutes but didn't have her best game with only 2 assists. A product of poor shooting by her teammates? Maybe.

I watched the Super Bowl with my friends 14 year old grandson. He was rooting hard for Kansas City and was so upset when they were down 10 at the half. He was moping around. He left the room. He had given up. I told him to never give up on your team. You do what you can do to help them  win with good mojo. We both turned our hats around in rally cap position and we all know what happened. I told him this was a good life lesson. Never give up. Always give it your all. I thought of my own words, turned my hat around and the Huskies did the rest.

Never give up. And I will never give up on this team. They are just tough as nails. The pundits are all saying (as are many fans) that they are done, too tired, worn out. Charlie SECreme said they were barely hanging on at this point. Well, a team that is done does not score 23 points in the fourth quarter to overcome a nine point lead. They are far from done Charlie. So stuff it.

So, time to look for the interviews, links, videos and anything else I can find about this amazing win by our UCONN HUSKIES!!!!!!!

Seven. Sept. Sette. Siete.

Yes, the Huskies, the turnover prone Huskies had only seven turnovers  in this game. Too bad they picked this game to have their worst shooting game of the season.

I know I'm gonna keep an eye out on three in particular.

Two teams I love to hate will have their hands full.

Louisville is playing a little better and will bring it when they visit the Irish, coming into this game on a four game winning streak.

Tennessee heads in Arkansas to play a desperate Razorback team going 2-5 over their last seven games. They recently lost to a weak Vanderbilt team. A bad loss. Can they beat Tennessee? I'm hoping.

The batlle between North Carolina and North Carolina State is always a good one. It should be a fun and competative game.
