DoggyDaddy's Dailies 12/19/15

Hot off the presses. DoggyDaddy's UCONN/LSU Pregame Report.

Looks like UConn will have a home and home with Baylor in the 2016-17 season. Now, wasn't that brave of her to wait until Stewart and Jefferson graduated before signing up for this series.

Mulkey has signed several excellent recruits the last few seasons including Lauren Cox, a big time UConn target. The talent level will certainly rival the Huskies.

This year, No. 4 Baylor is undefeated but hasn't played a very tough schedule. Their toughest opponent was No. 23 South Florida, and they only beat the Bulls 66-63. The rest of the games were against very weak teams. I'd like to see a few more competitive games for the Bears, but the only game tough game in the future is the  1/17 matchup with No. 5 Texas. They have a chance to be undefeated going into the tournament. But they play Texas again 2/28 and then probably in the Big 12 tournament. Those should be three great games.

From David in Naples

Only 3 of UConn's 8 opponents have held any lead in their games against the Huskies..!!

1. Ohio State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Colgate and FSU never led in their games.
2. Chattanooga, DePaul and Notre Dame held leads for a combined 2 minutes and 47 seconds.
3. The largest deficit for UConn was 2 points & never in the 2nd half.
4. UConn has played 320 minutes so far this season & been behind for less than 3 minutes.
5. Opponents have had a lead on UConn less than 1% of the time.

You can't win if you never lead.

And another -

UConn's statistics can be strangely similar. For example:

1. UConn has 108 team steals and 108 team turnovers.
2. UConn also has 97 offensive rebounds and 97 made free throws.

Those same stats can show the difference between UConn and opponents.
1. UConn's 108 steals compares to only 56 steals for opponents.
2. Opponents have only made 31 free throws vs 97 for the Huskies.

The biggest differences in favor of UConn comes in points scored (268), assists (90) and rebounds (85). Always nice to dominate those important areas.
