From David in Naples
. Napheesa Collier has started two straight games for UConn. It may be difficult to get her out of the starting line-up from now on. Her stats, while not spectacular, are still very impressive.
1. Collier is averaging almost 22 minutes per game and played 32 minutes in her two starts.
2. Her 24 steals are 2nd only to MoJeff's 26, despite Moriah playing 100 more minutes.
3. Napheesa's 19 offensive rebounds are equal to Stewie, just two off Gabby's 21.
4. She is 2nd on the team with 11 blocked shots, ahead of Gabby's 7 and Tuck's 6.
5. From inside the 3 pt arc, she is shooting 50%. On free throws, her 12-14 works out 85.7%.
6. Collier has 58 points, 6.4 per game. But as the 5th option, that is fine.
For a freshman, she has adapted well to what the team needs her to do. Defense, rebound, block shots, get steals and score strategically.

I just love when fans of other teams think they are experts on UConn. This one is from a Tennessee fan -
"So far this year UCONN is not beating everyone by 40 or more points so starting players are playing more minutes. I am not saying that UCONN is having problems but it is difficult to keep 12 to 14 superstars happy, especially when they are doing more bench time versus playing time."

Where do I start?? This one is too easy.
Well, UConn is not winning by 40 or more points. Horrors!!! But they are winning by 35 points on average. My guess that is enough to give the starters plenty of rest. But ARE the starters playing more minutes than last year?
The answer is no. When I looked at the stats and did the math it showed that this years starters average around 144 mpg and last years starters averaged around 136. We are talking about 8 minutes more. That's 1.6 minutes more per starter.
His second statement shows how ignorant this guy is about UConn. They only have 12 on the roster, two of them are end of bench players that only get 2 minutes a game. The ten other players? Well, one hasn't played a minute recovering from surgery, one is in and out of the lineup with a knee issue. That leaves 8 players in the regular rotation. I think Geno is capable of keeping them happy.
What the ????????
So, without further ado!!!
