I just wanted to show you that I know about basketball and know what it's like to win championships.

That handsome player in the top row left is none other than a very young DoggyDaddy. 17 years old.

Where has the time gone?

UConn played a tough DePaul team Wednesday night, defeating the Blue Demons 86-70 for their 42nd consecutive victory. DePaul kept it close in the first half 44-41 by making 9 of 17 three point shots but UConn started the second half with a 12-2 run to take a 56-43 lead. DePaul closed to within six point. UConn pushed the lead out again to nine points, but then DePaul came back one more time to close to 65-60. Behind freshman Katie Lou Samuelson's 10 points, UConn was never threatened again. More to come in my post game report out sometime Thursday.

I hammer Tennessee pretty good here on my Blog. Hey, they are an easy target. But Wednesday, after getting off to a slow start and actually behind Eastern Tennessee State 18-16, they did what they are supposed to do against an overmatched team playing them at home. They beat up on ETSU 85-49 behind 31 points from Diamond Deshields. Freshman Tia Cooper had a terrific game with 24 points and making 4-6 three point shots.

I can't be nice about them too much here...so let me say that they are a great bully. When they are pressing a weak team into a ton of turnovers, they are like sharks that smell blood in the water. They forced ETSU into 35 turnovers. I'm sure they pressed for most of the game.

Great game Wednesday night between No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 10 Ohio State. Playing without their two main frontcourt players, Brianna Turner and Taya Reimer, Notre Dame was able to win at home 75-72.

Notre Dame was led by 5th year senior Madison Cable, who has taken the lead roll for the Irish from her wing position. She scored 25 points including the go ahead basket with just under a minute left and then pushed the lead to three with 7 seconds left on the clock. Ohio State star guard Kelsey Mitchell missed a three to tie the game at the buzzer. She led the Buckeyes with 27 points.

I was amazed at the performance of Cable. She was always a nice complimentary player but she has made a terrific jump this season. Notre Dame started Hannah Huffman with Turner out and boy did she deliver. In nineteen minutes she was able to grab 9 rebounds and remarkably 7 offensive rebounds. Amazing stats for the 5'9" guard.

The Irish faces UConn Saturday at 5:15. It won't go as well as this game.

No. 9 Mississippi State's stay in the top ten will be short lived as No. 6 Texas was able to control the Bulldog, 53-47. What a terrible offensive performance for Mississippi State. They shot only 31% from the field and 2-16 on threes. They also had a total of 4 assists and had 19 TO's. UGLY!
