I wish I could say my golf game was as good as UConn women's basketball plays but alas, I had a slow start to my week in Florida. I was terrible on the front nine with 4 double bogies and a 46. The back nine was much better. I had a birdie and a tidy 41 for a total of 87. Playing again Tuesday so hopefully I can improve. I'm not sure the Huskies can play any better!

Yes, UConn put a show on tonight, basically telling the tournament committee to STFU with their No. 5 seed. Sorry Mississippi State but you should be behind UConn.

The Huskies put a world of hurt on the Gamecocks with a BIG third quarter to put the game away. But it really started earlier in the game. From the time that South Carolina led 36-30 with 6 minutes remaining in the second quarter through the third quarter the Huskies outscored SC 43-19. It was a complete destruction of a team that came into this game 13-1 over their last 14 games. It was the most points given up by South Carolina this season, even more than that Four Seed Mississippi State scored against them.

Collier and Samuelson were just unbelievable. Katie Lou could only his one three-pointer, but she still scored 29 points going 8-8 from the foul line. Napheesa's line was just impressive. She was 15-23 from the field, and scored 31 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and handed out a team leading 6 assists. First team AA baby!!!!!

Geno was just ecstatic about this game. You could tell what a big game he thought this was for his team.

The next time this team plays, I will be home from Florida back in cold Connecticut!!! The Huskies exchange places with me, traveling to Central Florida on Sunday. UCF is just outside the top 25.

The top 16 teams seeds were announced at halftime of the UConn/South Carolina game and the Huskies were the No. 5 seed and a No. 2 in the Albany region with Mississippi State being the No. 1 seed in that region. I'm not sure that shouldn't be reversed in order, but Geno just summarily dismisses all talk about the seedings until the final seedings are officially announced. I believe he thinks that as long as his team plays their best they can win it all and that's all that matters.

South Carolina played solid basketball against the Huskies tonight. They shot 46% from the field and 83% from the charity stripe. But, UConn played even better, scoring 97 points on 57% shooting from the field and 89% from the line. Better beats solid every time..!

Napheesa and Katie Lou both played the whole game, scored a combined 60 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and handed off 10 assists. For the 2nd game in a row, Pheesa was 4 assists short of a triple double. Add in 19 points from Christyn on 7-8 shooting and SC had no chance.

Go Huskies..!!
